great food, low key, nice people

Food is good but they charge $3 to substitute Fries instead of chips. Subs are expensive too. The food is good but there are plenty of places around with good food where you dont have to break the bank for a sandwich.

Best bacon cheeseburgers ever! as well as the best fries--and they have mustard, ketchup, or vinegar as condiments... prices actually not so bad when compared to say Ruby Tuesdays, and the amount you get for your money---bartenders are great there too :)

This is a real cool place. You walk downstairs which adds to the atmosphere. Happy hour is two for one, and they have a happy hour crew that is not upscale, but the bartenders are always first rate. They claim to have the best burgers in town and they are good, but I prefer Five Guys around the corner. The best secret here is the Fat Jack, which is delicous! And the real find here is the....er...."economy of scale" per say. Here within a block we have three of the best beef secrets in the Washington/Baltimore area. If you want brisket, Black Hog is great. If you want burgers, Griff's, or the Turtle, or Five Guys, right here. But Wag's can keep up with all of them. And they were here as long as any of them so you get the local feel. And they are as good as any of them too. A Fat Jack is a beautiful thing. The burgers are as good as Five Guys....and the serving of fries is even bigger!!! If you can imagine that. And....like I said, the bartenders are right on top of things. Plus, they have good music, none of the DJ thumpidy, thump, thump. Like Griff's, their TV's could be bigger. But if you are coming up from DC, PG, Howard, Loudon or Montgomery County, and looking for a good, casual place to start the night, you'll find great bartenders and great brisket, burgers and drinks here.

We travel once every couple of months over an hour, just to eat at Wags. Great food, great place. Fries are awesome, steak sandwiches are the best in the area!!

I agree that their burgers are way over hyped but at the same time I love Wags. Its relatively inexpensive and a lot of their sandwiches are different and excellent. I really like the Russian Roast Beef and I normally would never order a cold sandwich from a restaurant.

beg to differ with anonymous, Burgers are not frozen but fresh. The best in Frederick. Fries are great also.I think the prices are very reasonable and the staff is great.

I can't say I have tested their menu extensively because honestly I never get past their burgers and fries. Absolutely terrific. One of the very few places in town where you can get an honest french fry as opposed to the frozen homogenized garbage.

I like wags, it is somewhat diveish, which I like. food is pretty good too. Cheap, regular food. I like their burgers alot, especially the wags burger, but wasn't a fan of the steak and cheese. fries are always good, but a little pricy.

Agree that while the burgers can be good, they aren't the "best." Five Guys gets my nod for that honor. This isn't to say I don't love Wag's. The atmosphere is great, waitresses nice, beer cold, and they do have some really good sandwiches other than hamburgers.

Excellent Pub atmosphere- don't miss it- must enter by going down stairs off the sidewalk- very near to carroll creek!

Gyro and Fries are an excellent combination and great quality! Prices aren't bad either!

A quaint, downstairs location. The burgers are pretty good. Try the Fat Jack. The last one I had was slightly over cooked but still good. Soups are always great and the fries are the best in Frederick.

The burgers are not the best around, trust me. They are 4oz. frozen patties with shredded lettuce and tomato on top. No big deal. They have told people for years that they are the best so people started to beleive it. Don't!
