What do we miss most after our move to VA? China Garden, Allen and his family! We can't get to Frederick often enough. We miss the food, but we also miss the folks there. You aren't a customer, you are family!

You pick restaurants for the food they serve. You return and keep returning to restaurants for the service they provide. My family and I love coming and eating at your restaurant. You should be very proud of the staff. I would like to especially thank "jon"...he is by far one of the best waiters I have seen.

The orange chicken is the best I've ever had. I order from here about once a week. I have only eaten at the actual restaurant a couple times. I almost always get delivery. They are pretty quick. Someone on here said that they only deliver to gated communities. That's not true. I don't even know of any gated communities in Frederick. I've had them deliver to both downtown and Monarch Ridge off of Butterfly. The crab wonton is delicious. The sauce that comes with it is made by them, not frozen, and has pieces of fruit in it. This is the best Chinese food I've ever had.

Best Chinese food if Frederick. Friendly owner and very accomdating to customers. The entire staff at the retaurant aim to please in every way. The food is always delicious. We have never been disaappointed with anything we ordered.

We drive in from Hagerstown for China Garden. We have been eating there at least 23 years and Allan and his staff never disappoint. Best around by far! From the sushi to the wonderful shrimp and the best egg drop soup I have ever eaten!

I really like their food but I think they should change what they say about their delivery area.I am within 3 miles of the establishment and was told they would only deliver to a gated community.The order was way over the $15 minimum

My father & I first discovered China Garden in Frederick on Christmas Day several years ago. They were the only restaurant open on Christmas. Even McDonalds is closed on Christmas! How clever for them to be the ONLY place open on a day when people have a lot of company that they'd rather not have to cook for.
Not only are they open on Christmas, but their food is exquisite! I'm from Germantown, MD & the best place here for Chinese food is Cafe Hong Kong, but Frederick's China Garden is noticeably much, much better. Plus they have an impressive Sushi.
I can’t vouch for other locations, but the Frederick China Garden is the best place for Chinese food.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The owner is involved in the community and is awesome to deal with.
The food is fresh and consistent. It is the "Americanized Chinese" we grew up with. It cannot hold a candle to the more authentic restaurants in DC and Montgomery County but having eaten at every Frederick Chinese restaurant over the last 8 years... This is consistently the best and has the best sushi here as well.

Better than average (and most Chinese restaurants I've been to are squarely average--no better and no worse). Very busy Friday and Saturday nights--you'll probably have to wait for a table. We go or get takeout regularly. Always tasty.

This is by far the best Chinese food in Frederick. My wife and I go there at least 3-4 times a month. Very good, their dinner prices are a little high, but, they give you tons of food, so it ends up being okay, especially if you get take-out. Their orange chicken is great.

I have been enjoying china garden for 14 years and have never been disappointed. Food is always good, Hot & Sour soup, Beef chow fun (only place in this area that has chow fun), hunan chicken or Beef, General Tso's chicken, and the sushi is fresh and well presented!
Alan is friendly and always remembers his regulars, even on the phone! Excellent Food, service and atmosphere, can't ask for more without being greedy!

Amazing! They actually offer a complete line of no-MSG (aka MSG-free) Chinese foods. I love it! And, years ago, when I lived closer to downtown, I useta eat with friends at their sushi bar a lot, and both their sushi and regular menu foods are great.

BEST Chinese in Maryland, I refuse to go anywhere else. Staff is amazingly friendly and recognize you after you've visited a few times! Lunch is extremely inexpensive and you get a lot of food. Dinner is delicious and cannot be topped by any other Chinese restaurant in the vicinity! Definitely a must try!

The best Chinese food anywhere. The owner is extremely friendly, and the food is always fresh & tasty. They always get the order right. I wouldn't eat at any other Chinese restaurant! My only complaint is that they recently stopped giving out the free orange sherbet with carryout orders.

China Garden is the second best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to and the other is about 800 miles from Frederick.
The staff at China Garden are all (I think) extended family, including several woman with no accents at all which is GREAT since ordering from there is a breeze unlike several other places in town.
The manager was VERY friendly, in fact once replacign a dish at no cost that was "wrong" only because I thought I was ordering something else. Making up for my own stupidity got them a customer for life!
I would HIGHLY recommend China Garden!

Having grown up in Montgomery County, I have experienced some good Chinese before, so when my wife and I moved up to Frederick, naturally, we were on the hunt for a place to make our own. After moving in, we tried some of the menus that came with the junk mail and we were quite disappointed. We then heard about China Garden and how it's been ranked the best Chinese in Frederick for years. So of course we tried it. Kind of a let down by it. Compared to every other place we tried in Frederick, yes it's the best. I agree with some of the posts here, the food is not too flavorful... even the General Tso chicken was lack luster. But, we absolutely fell in love with the sesame beef, which was absolutely excellent. Then all of a sudden it went downhill. It always arrived soggy and over-cooked. Yes, it was delivery, but they managed to get it right plenty of times prior to our bad experiences. Overall, I'm not too impressed with the place, but it is the best in Frederick....which apparently is an easy claim. But of course we'll keep going back until something better graces our plates. I will give them one thing: the food is usually of a high quality. And if you've ever felt like you're eating the scraps off the floor with some of the bad places out there, then CG is your best bet if you like quality Chinese.

The sushi at this establishment is very good, the main courses are standard Chinese fare... nothing horrible, nothing great. However, the wait staff is among the slowest in Frederick, so don't be in a hurry.

I have been eating in this restaurant for years. The food is always top-notch and the servers are very helpful. My husband and I are easing our way into Sushi and it was so fresh and flavorful! We both love the Sauteed String Beans too! Come in and try them. You won't be sorry!

Delicious food. There's no question about it.
The in-house service can't be beat and the price during lunch for the quality and quantity of food you get is just great.
Beware of their delivery though. So far it's been a hit/miss ordeal having them deliver not even 2 miles away and half the time get the address wrong. Don't do delivery if you're hungry and want some instant/soon gratification. Pick up or in restaurant is the best way to go.

We finally found a Chinese Restaurant that is worth going to

Have been there twice in one week.
First time we went we over ordered and brought enough home for another meal.
Second time we went and sat at sushi bar. Not going anywhere else for either sushi or chinese and they deliver No wonder they've been named best Chinese Restaurant for last 10 years in Frederick

I've been eating at China Garden for 20+ years. I took my wife there on our first date and she became hooked. Me moved away from Frederick 5 years ago and China Garden is still the only Chinese food we eat.
It doesn't matter how much time passes between my visits, when Alan sees us, he greets us with a handshake and treats us as it we eat there every week.

This has been my whole family's favorite restaurant for a long time. We love it. The waiters are wonderful and the food is delicious. I recommend General Tso's Chicken, Miso Soup and Shrimp Lo Mein. All three are delicious. I love China Garden! It's the best Chinese Restaurant is Frederick!

Wonton soup, green beans, lemon chicken, and great lunch deals is what we go for. Dinner can be crowded and slow, but the staff works SO hard and is SO friendly and helpful. Lunch is fast, inexpensive, and enough to take home for dinner. The sushi is really excellent here, too.

This place has great sushi and chinese, friendly service, and great management. I have had delivery and dined in the resturaunt and have very pleased. The food is flavorful, hot, fresh, and overall excellent. The sushi is fresh and tasty. I HIGHLY recommend the China Garden if you are looking for GREAT food at a GREAT price.

It's more than just the food! The owners, staff, and the patrons are great people having a wonderful eating and social experience. The food is very good, consistent presentation, for the past 13-14 years. China Garden is the No 1. Chinese restaurant in Frederick because of the total dining experience. The owners truely support our local community through donations and assistance to those in need. I have taken visitors to this place for the past 10 years. Everytime my visitors come back into town they want to go to China Garden. That speaks volumn. So I highly recommend you try China Garden. Tell them Coach Mike sent you.

I did not particularly care for it the first time, but because of all of the wonderful reviews, was willing to try it again. If you actually like Chinese food, don't bother going here. The dish I had had no flavor and the vegetables were overcooked. The rice was greasy. The Miso soup was not awful; it did have fresh ingredients, but too sweet for my taste.

Went to China Garden recently...first time in about 12 years. Hubby & I went there as a "anniversary" gift to ourselves - we used to go there all the time before we were married. However, on our recent visit there, I must say we were completely dis-satisfied and let down. Feel like we completely wasted our money. Service very slow. Food awful. Will not bother returning.

This Frederick institution may indeed be the best Chinese in the city. The restaurant itself is becoming an anomaly here, and not just because the exterior and interior reminds me of a 1950's-era restaurant (while inviting); there are few standard Chinese restaurants left here. They are mostly either neighborhood take out stands or the all buffet variety. In any case, the service is friendly and enthusiastic about their product- they routinely bring free appetizers of delicious marinated cucumbers to the table. The sushi is acceptable and will do in a pinch, but the Chinese is where this place shines. Wish we had dim sum here!

Best Sushi I've had that isn't at a hybatchi grill. And the fried rice is amazing. They have a great staff and don't mind special orders. This place is the best I've had and I've eaten at alot of chinese restraunts and this one is by far the best in frederick.

The only thing better than the food and atmosphere is the lunch prices!! For around five bucks you get soup, entree, fried rice, and eggroll. This is my favorite Chinese joint.

To be fair, I've only eaten there once and it was carry out, but I was not impressed at all. I bought 3 lunch specials and none of them were very good. The fried rice was not what I expected, as it looked like partly fried rice with white rice blended in. There wasn't much of it, either. I guess I got gyped the day I came in and everyone else got the good food!
I love good Chinese, but I'm not anxious to go back after my first experience there.

While the Chinese dishes are mouth-watering, the four different Sushi rolls I tried were disappointing at best. The shrimp tempura roll had a fishy taste, and the spicy Tuna roll, well ... it wasn't. But one thing is undisputable; the Won Ton soup is without compare anywhere in Frederick, and the Four-Star seafood dish was memorable, with large, tasty prawns and scallops. I wouldn't hesitate to dig into some authentic Chinese fare at China Garden, but I'll leave Sushi to the folks who know Sushi; the Japanese.

China Garden is an excellent restaurant. They serve great Chinese food with very fresh ingredients. My favorite is the General Tso's shrimp and the sushi. My family from "down the road" came up one Sunday afternoon and they did not believe how good Chinese food could be until they tried China Garden. They were also surprised at how crowded the restaurant was on a Sunday afternoon. This shows you just how popular this place is. The owner is always very friendly and I love the extras they give you (cucumbers and sherbert).

Wonderful! Standard chinese fare with a full complement of Japanese sushi...Recommend the General Tso's Bean Curd or, really, any General Tso's dish.
