My husband and I, and now our Germany family, love this place. Great food, friendly, efficient, and close to home!

I especially love the homemade soups. The sandwiches are huge and delicious. The server and 1/2 owner is quite the gentleman. Everything is grate. Going back for my 3rd time today. Try it - you'll like it.

Great homemade food...a down home atmosphere

I was excited to try this out after reading these reviews. I went there today for lunch and found the food overpriced and the menu limiting. Everything was 'extra' as far as prices. I wasn't that impressed!

I love this place!! The food is good, and bread pudding that I crave!

We have passed by this little place many times without much thought. We thought it was a small diner/greasy spoon. After reading the above comments, we decided to give it a shot. It is our new favorite restaurant! Everything is made from scratch - not frozen and fried up like everything else in Mt. Airy. Very good food, good service, and comfy atmosphere. Will go back again! And again~!

This place rocks! :-)

The best food and friends in the area - but you won't like it. It's a little place with great atmosphere...but those of us who feel like it's a second home are concerned that it's going to be overrun. So, stay home and eat McDonalds or order a pizza. I'm going to the Kettle!

Excellent place- plain country cooking for the boring eater, delicious gourmet delights for the more adventerous! The specials are always a treat! Come dressed up, or come straight from the fields. We come after every trail ride smelling all horsey and we're still welcome. What a great place.

We call it "The Club" and go there once a week on average. Always see our neighbors and have a great time. Staff is friendly. Food is well above the other fare in Mt. Airy.

The food is GREAT! Very nice little place.

I've eaten there a few times, most recently a few days ago, and just wish I could get there more often. The food was delicious, the service wzs excellent, and the atmosphere was charming. What more could one ask?

Best real food in Mount Airy. Everything is outstanding! Only wish you still had breakfast on the weekends. Sweet Potato fries are incredible!

Always Delicious! Can't go wrong with the daily specials.

THE best restaurant around. Have been there many times. Can not travel down I70 without stopping at the cafe. Every dish has been a winner! My only disappointment is that they are closed on Mondays.

I would recommend this fine little resteraunt to anyone looking for a unique dining experience in MT. Airy. I have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. They have wonderful specials as well as a standard menu. Portions are quite generous, as I usually leave with leftovers.

Hubby and I went there recently. Had a cup of their Chicken & Sausage Gumbo -- I wish I had ordered a bowl! Food was great -- not what you would expect for a small neighborhood place. Can't wait to go again!

Great!

Downright odd to find real chefs -- not just fast food cooks -- out in a small, inauspicious setting such as this one. Comfy, quiet, friendly relaxed. Sweet potato fries are special. A side dish of broccoli is superb. You couldn't find better in an A-1 establishment in New York City, but you'll sure find better prices!

very clean friendly service! food was very good & not the same standard Sysco menu that everyone else in mt airy has!

A must Eat! If you live in Mount Airy/poplar springs be there or be square!!

Outstanding shellfish stew and house salad. Gourmet food in the country.
Date: February 12, 2004
For such a simple setting - clean, bright, homely decor, the service and food is absolutely outstanding. The extra touches make the difference - take an ordinary salad and add apple, bacon, pecans, fantastic croutons and a bacon apple dressing and you're hooked. The portions are enormous, the menu is broad, the service is friendly and comfortable, the prices are fair, and even the drive to get there is a pretty one.

GREAT! Home cooked meal or Gourmet dining. Your choice.

Great out of the way restaurant. Quaint, quiet and owners are friendly. Food is excellent. Great menu. Some unusual gourmet dishes at chef's whim.
