After so many locals' rave reviews, my galfriends and I decided to try DD for Sunday brunch. The server at the prime rib station insulted me; we did not find the food to be anything special; and we have never had any desire to return.

The meals were wonderful! The filet with crab/hollandaise sauce was seasoned and cooked to perfection...very hard to do on such a thick cut of steak as well! The chicken parmesan was delicious. ...and the appetizers - bbq shrimp wrapped in bacon and scallops also wrapped in bacon - were phenomenal. Salads good - bread and honey/cinnamon butter a great treat! Taylor even gave us bread and h/c butter to take with us in our "people bag" for lunch tomorrow!
The service was far above my expectations- quick, friendly, courteous.
Our food came out amazingly fast - given the crowd that was there at 5:00 PM on Saturday, Feb. 18 - President's Day weekend!
I am saddened by the ratings given to the likes of Wendy's, McDonalds, etc.... Really? These establishments rated more highly that Dutch's Daughter?
We will DEFINITELY patronize this fine restaurant in the days to come! To be able to handle a huge crowd, get folks in and out quickly without making them feel rushed in any way and to keep the quality of food at such a high standard is quite an accomplishment.
We highly - no, VERY HIGHLY - recommend this restaurant to all (as if it needed our kudos!)
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Service slow, crab cake not tasteful and not what I expected for the price(filler, not much lump crab meat). Steak okay, alittle bit to much fat. Dried up sides. Not worth the prices.
Date: January 5, 2012
The shrimp did not have any taste. I have had other food there and it was not worth the money. The service is good and the place is very nice. But not worth the money.

We normally go to Dutch's Daughter for their Sunday Brunch which is very good and worth the cost. So, we decided to try their Thanksgiving Buffet dinner, a total disappointment, the food was not good at all. We made reservations two weeks before and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. A five or 10 minute wait I would understand, but 30 minutes. Totally unacceptable. We do not recommend this restaurant for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Date: October 25, 2011
As a special treat, my family goes to Dutch's Daughter for either Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. I pride myself on my cooking skills, but many Thanksgiving dinner items at Dutch'es far exceed my skill. Especially wonderful are the fried oysters, and the best mashed potatoes I've ever tasted. The place is beautiful and the service is excellent.
Date: October 17, 2011
The main dinning room is lovely, but so poorly lit that it is a punishment for the over 50 set to which I belong. We need more light. When the group suggests dinner there, I suggest someplace with better lighting. If I'm going to pay high prices, I should at least enjoy the ambiance.

We had the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding at Dutch's Daughter. The room was lovely. The food was superb. Our appetizers were to die for! The scallops were sweet and moist. The crab balls--outstanding. We also had mushroom caps stuffed with cheese and spinach--also very good.
Our main courses were wonderful! Everyone raved about their meals. Danielle, the event's coordinator was wonderful to work with. Our servers were excellent. Service was outstanding.I

Dutch's Daughter is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food is outstanding (pricey, but totally worth it). The atmosphere is wonderful, the host staff is always extremely friendly and the servers are without a doubt the best I've ever had. The dungeon bar area is a lot of fun as well, a bit more casual than the main level, and always more crowded if you're looking for a more upbeat and fun dinner than the quieter, more formal upstairs level of the restaurant. After eating at Dutch's numerous times, and also eating at many other restaurants around Maryland and the tri-state area, Dutch's still ranks first on my list if I am looking for an unforgettable, mouth watering meal. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try the best maryland crab cake or steak you've ever had. Thanks DD!
Date: June 27, 2011
nice atmosphere for a date especially the bar area but we will never go again. The food and service seems to get progressively worse over the years while the prices stay the same or get higher. This really is diner food at (4) star restaurant prices.
Date: June 11, 2011
We always go to Dutch's when we want an excellent meal. We have never been disappointed. I can't agree with some comments that the prices are too high. You can't expect this great quality at McDonald's prices......
Date: February 15, 2011
Had a resv. for 12 people for a BD party on Tues Mar 15th at 6pm, came in and was seated for an 8 top table, was moved to the lounge in the dungeon next to the patio at our request. Our server, who I think was named Jim as he never introduced himself was our server. We had requested separate tabs and knew we would be charged a 20% gratuity, leaving our server w/ no reason to give excellent service but what we rec'd was beyound bad. Tabs were lost, miscalculated and we waited a half hour for him to figure them out. TOTALLY unaccetable considering his tip was over $120 for out table. We had to flag him down for every drink & order even though he only had 1 other table.

My wife & I have visited Dutches Daughter 12-14 times over the last year or so. We've always enjoyed eating there for both the food and ambience. Service has always been top notch and food always way above average. I only wish we could afford to eat there weekly.
Date: January 19, 2011
Food isn't bad, but it isn't great either. For the prices they charge it should be incredible. The waitstaff is usually fantastic even if the food isn't. The bar downstairs is fantastic, we frequent it, and Thomas and Will are the best bartenders ever!

I wish I could get to MD more often. I absolutely love Dutch's Daughter. I've never been disappointed and can't wait for my next visit. It's the perfect restaurant. We love to go out for Brunch on Sunday and never have we found a wonderful Brunch like Dutch's. My husband hears me say everytime "this restaurant can never compare to Dutch's Daughter." I miss it so much. Every meal there is superb. Thank you Dutch's Daughter and your wonderful staff.
Date: July 16, 2010
I was not impressed. I expected 5 star quality food and although the food was very good I didn't think it was worth the price. Prime rib was 30 dollars, the Seafood Platter 50+. My Ceaser salad was iceberg lettuce in big wedges and my twice baked potato nearly cold. I also noticed in the room we were seated in that over half the tables were special occasions. It's a very beautiful restaurant with tapestry's and our waiter was very nice. To us, the price did not equal the quality and would not go back.
Date: June 21, 2010
Ok, we've never been to this restaurant before, had some extra money and decided to try Dutch's Daughter. First of all, I expected 5 star service and had high expectations. All's I have to say is I won't be going back. I noticed out of the 5 tables in the dining area we were in, half the tables were having birthdays so it was obvious to me that this is a place people can't normally afford. I'm sure they won't be back either. We sat for a while before we ordered. We were getting antsy. My husband ordered a drink. That took a while too. I decided to go with a Ceaser Salad. I was so annoyed when a salad with chucks of iceberg veins were put in front of me. ICEBERG lettuce? Give me a break. Ceaser salad is suppose to be Romaine lettuce. The main meal was good enough although my 1/2 of twice backed potato was one hair from being cold. The food was good - it just wasn't worth the prices they wanted. I had prime rib - it was 35 dollars. My husband had a seafood combo which was 50 dollars.

I ate at Dutch's Daughter for the first time in the spring of 2009. My sister recommended it since she has eaten there before. I had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences that I can remember. The Maryland Crab cakes are wonderful and the frozen margaritas are to die for! We will be dining there again this coming weekend when we come into town for the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival.
Date: November 15, 2009
The atmosphere was that of an old mansion - that was the only positive thing I can mention. The inside atmosphere was bland like a cafeteria. The food had way too much salt in it. For those suffering heart ailments, don't go. The food was hurriedly cooked, and I still could taste the syrup on my salmon. The baked potatoes were soft to perfection but salty. Bland food w a lot of salt is a sign that the food is not prepared with careful and lengthy cooking. Bleah!

While I was visiting in Frederick last weekend I had the occasion to dine at your lovely restaurant with friends. I had several requests of the server because of diet restrictions, which she took very graciously. I ordered crab cake. I have read that it was "the best in Frederick". I, on the other hand, would rate it "best I ever had"!
Everything was hot, prepared perfectly, presented beautifully and very delicious. And, all my special requests were met deliciously, as well.
Our server, while I cannot remember her name, (if it helps - she was rather tall with short dark hair))was both professional and delightful. She really was the key to what turned out to be a wonderful evening for us.We lingered over dinner several hours- and NEVER felt rushed!
I would certainly recommend this very special restaurant to friends and family and hope to come back when I'm next in your area.
Date: September 10, 2009
Have eaten there often over a good many years, always very good. Went back Saturday Sept. 5, 2009 and was greatly disapointed. The dinner ware looked like diner plates. The salad was a few pieces of romain 1 grape tomato and a few slivers of carrot, dutches chicken was dried up like it had been cooked before and reheated. The stuffed bake potato was mediocre. No mints and no coment card.
Date: April 28, 2009
A beautiful Fine Dining Establishment. I have eaten there many of times. I made reservations on valentines day at 7, it took 30 minutes to get seated, and we ended up being sat upstairs. BUMMER! not only that but it took over an hour to get our food, we had a cute nice little girl named candace, who made the evening turn out better than I thought. She ended up bring out chocolate cover strawberries for my husband and I and they were wonderful.
Date: April 19, 2009
I love this place! My daughter had her husband take me there regularly when I visit from Las Vegas. The cream of crab soup is hard to replace, the baked sweet potatoes are perfect, salads are always fresh and I would recommend this place without reservation to anyone wanting a a superior dining experience. I wish they had one in Las Vegas so I didn't have to wait for my trips to visit my family there-but then, the wait is worth it!
Date: March 31, 2009
Popular but overrated. Food is unremarkable.
Date: March 9, 2009
I love a good steak. The first time I ate here, my boyfriend, now my fiance, took me and I was served one of the best filet's I have ever eaten. Additionally, the service was amazing and the ambiance was unbelievable. Now this restaurant is one of my favorite. Now we are having our wedding reception here. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant. Kudos!!
Date: March 1, 2009
My family and I go to Dutch's every weekend and we absolutly love it. The host staff is always so helpful and always take us to our table, always with less than a 15 minute wait (Which isn't bad for a Saturday night at Dutch's!!) Then we are spoiled by the server, who always makes sure we are happy with everything we get. (No matter who our server is, everything is always excellent.) The crab cakes are the best I have had anywhere in Maryland at least. The one time that everything was not perfect, both the managers and the owner were quick to make sure we were taken care of, offering to do anything they could to correct the mistake. The server staff is excellent and the food is some of the best we have had anywhere, anytime! My family and I Dutch's Daughter and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice restaurant to eat at.
Date: February 27, 2009
i think this restaurant is absolutely amazing ! it is definately my favortie place to eat in frederick. the crab cakes are WONDERFUL!!! the staff is friendly and sincere and the owner is very accomodating :) i definately reccomend this restaurant to anyone who loves great seafood and great service !
Date: January 9, 2009
Food is great but way overpriced for what it is.
Date: January 1, 2009
This is a nice family restaurant with excellently prepared seafood. It's not a haute cuisine restaurant, true, just a great restaurant to take the family to on special occasions. It's the restaurant you take your kids to when you want to teach them about fine dining. It is a little pricey, but I'd rather eat broiled seafood instead of microwaved, pre-cooked food anytime.
Date: September 17, 2008
Get any dish with crab in it, order a steak rare to medium rare. Drink lots of cabernet. I think it is a bit underpriced, but that is just me. The quality of the food, Dutch's Daughter does serves up the best and that is what I am into. Always make reservations or you might not get in.
Date: June 14, 2008
We took out of town guests to this restaurant, based on the numerous raving reviews it has received on websites and the local papers.
The atmosphere is dark, service was horrible (30 minutes passed until we put in our drink orders), food was slow to get to us (over an hour wait), and the food tasted average at best. Needless to say, we were quite embarrassed to have brought guests there who wanted to treat our family to a nice meal.
This is definitely not the best restaurant in Frederick! I won't be returning.
Date: May 26, 2008
Great food, great service. You want so-so food at average prices, go to Red Lobster down the street. Dutch's Daughter is pricey, but everything was fresh and not out of the freezer or can as it often is at the other place.
I have been to their sunday brunch as well as a few wedding receptions as well as an anniversary or birthday here and there and have always come away with a good feeling. Yes, a bit pricey but well worth it. Especially once you taste the crab cakes!

We made reservations for eight at Dutch’s Daughter to celebrate a big event in our lives. We were seated immediately at a large round table – perfect for good conversation with the whole group. Our server was very professional. We ordered drinks which came right away and were very good. Next came the delicious warm bread and two types of butter. Excellent. Next, Maryland Crab soup which is a favorite in our family, but too often tastes like Campbell’s vegetable soup with a little crab thrown in. Not here. Dutch’s Daughter knows how to make good Maryland Crab soup. Next came the salads – lovely greens with tiny tomatoes and shredded carrot dressed with excellent balsamic vinagrette (our choice – they have others). Most of us ordered off the Lite Fare menu, which simply means smaller, more reasonable sized portions. We wanted to leave a little room for desert without feeling stuffed afterward. It was a good choice. We chose crab cakes or crab imperial, which came with nicely baked potatoes, sweet potatoes or a medley of vegetables cooked to perfection. Nothing is over-dressed, over-sauced, or covered in extra flavorings. The food was hot and tasty without added toppings. This is why you go to a fine restaurant. Quality over quantity, food prepared well, presented well, and not hidden beneath anything. And so we enjoyed our meals and had room to share a few deserts. The chocolate mousse is may favorite and I’m not even a chocolate lover. The brownie sundae and cheesecake were also very good. And our server gave a complementary plate of strawberries dipped in dark chocolate with a pile of whipped cream for dipping. Excellent. The whole experience took two hours, maybe a little more. But we were not anxious to leave. We sipped our coffee and lingered a bit, enjoying the end of the evening. This was a meal we will all remember.
Date: February 4, 2008
The owner is obsessed with the quality of the food, eat there, she should charge more for what she offers, can't get what you get at Dutches anywhere else. Crab Cakes....YUMMMMMM
Date: January 4, 2008
I had my wedding reception at Dutchs in June 2007. I never considered having my reception anywhere else. They handled the 200 guests flawlessly. Dutchs is THE BEST. Anyone who complains about the price or the food obviously has no perception of quality. You get what you pay for and the $20,000 I spent on food was well worth it. I would have payed double!!!! Love the restaurant!! Everyone at my reception has been back several times and they all have enjoyed the food and the atmosphere immensly.
Date: December 29, 2007
Sunday Seafood Brunch Buffet is * the best*
We've been going to Dutch's for this meal for years and have never been disappointed. The cream of crab soup, hot crab dip, and scrambled eggs with crab are scrumptious. Add bacon and Dutch's chicken and waffles and pastries... quite the feast! And the dessert bar has a very*very*very good selection.
Date: November 30, 2007
Best restaurant in Frederick, and better than NY and DC places that charge twice as much. I don't think it's too expensive. Besides that keeps out the Red Lobster crowd. My wife and I have been to the new location many times and have never been anything but pleased. Out of town guests always get treated to "something special" right here in Central Maryland. The Crab Imperial is to die for. Steaks are always top quality and cooked to perfection. Service has always been prompt, efficient yet not intrusive. The perfect dining experience at a reasonable price. 4 and a half stars.
Date: November 5, 2007
My wife and I have a term: "Frederick Four-Star" - a restaurant that our neighbors swear is "The Best in the Universe", but would probably rate about 2-1/2 stars in a big city. DD is the perfect example. The menu seemed to be a variety of steak or fish, then *the exact same menu items* repeated with crab on top!
We've eaten there three times. Once was their brunch, once was a dinner that was fine, and once the food was overcooked. The staff seemed slow and disorganized, although the manager (owner?) swooped down with a vengeance to replace our food and make things right: "Are you SURE that fish isn't overcooked??? Let me get you a new serving."
The Carriage House in Emmitsburg has a much nicer brunch - it's the only one we will go to now.
Overall: decent atmosphere, the owner seems to care about customer service, the service needs work (like many Fred. restaurants!), and the Crab Imperial ("Oscar") thing is way overdone. You can do better for less.
Date: October 3, 2007
I've only been here once and it was for a wedding reception, so I didn't have to pay. From what I hear, that's a good thing ($$$$!!!) I don't think this place is worth what people are paying. Granted, the food was good, but not unbelievable. And for $25-35 an entree, I better be getting the best. But hey, it definitely beats Golden Corral!
Date: August 5, 2007
The fish was over cooked, the fillet was under cooked; I guess that evens out. The wine list was poorly selected and hugely over priced. The dining was clean but the atmosphere had no character unless upscale nursing home can be considered as ambiance. The only thing I can say positive about our visit was the service was top notch. A huge, expensive disappointment; I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Date: July 23, 2007
It's simply the best restaurant I have ever eaten. I eat all over the place and nothing compares. I try other places and kick myself for settling for less and for the same price.
The owner, Ilene, runs it very well. She is awesome. I want some crab cakes now !!!!!!
Date: July 16, 2007
Mmmm Mmmm
Fantastic Food. I would go back even though it is 2000 miles away.
Date: May 11, 2007
I travel extensively throughout the U.S. In my travels I have found a few different places that I make an effort to return to, when possible, for another meal. After hearing from friends here at home about Dutch's Daughter, my wife and I made reservations. What a pleasant surprise. After our first visit, we have returned as often as possible. I have nothing but "kudos" for all aspects of our experience there. Wonderful service, friendly staff, delicious food, and all at a fair price. If we only lived closer.
Date: April 29, 2007
It's home to the most incredible sandwich I've ever had.
The cheese and steak sandwich was like no other. The meat was in chunks (not slices) and carved from the bone. The bread and cheese was also very spot on.
Date: March 27, 2007
I've eaten here twice, once for a large birthday party brunch, and once for lunch with my husband. I'm an Annapolis girl and was looking forward to trying the crabcake, "the best in Frederick," I was told. It was okay, but definitely not the best I've had in this area. I thought the place had allright food, but nothing spectacular, overpriced, so-so service. Next time we go out to lunch, we'll go back to Hagan's Tavern.
Date: March 22, 2007
first let me say that i will qualify my rating by telling you we are driving 2 hours and 15 minutes to get there from our house in lincoln univerisity, pa to eat there for the second time in a couple months! it's worth the trip! and this saturday's my birthday and with the good restaurants we have up here.....this is by far the best and we're going! YES! IT'S EXPENSIVE! i'd average if i remember correctly and say expect to pay $12 for an appetizer...$26 to $34 for your entree (not including lobster)to give you an idea! but it is sooooo worth it! the quality of the food...the service...an old mansion type main dining room....mantles...fireplace...huge chandeliers...greenery....flowers etc all adds up to one memorable lunch / dinner! now if you don't care about all that....you can eat cheaper elsewhere. if this sounds like a nice evening to you....then GO! you won't regret it or the price! an insider's tip....the size of the appetizer is huge! my husband on our first visit got the baked brie in phyllo with raspberry sauce...it occuppied 3/4 of a dinner plate! i got a seafood combination that was to die for and so much seafood....i couldn't eat it all...we shared with others in our party. the bowl of seafood bisque wasn't a tiny bowl...it was the size of a dinner plate or plate charger! we'll be there this saturday evening! i'll be in the black and white dress! :)
Date: March 21, 2007
I took my wife out for our anniversary and had the Filet Oscar. My wife enjoyed the Broiled Scallops. Our meals were out of this world...Hot, prepared carefully, and the presentation was devine. Our Server was Joe and he made the perfect evening complete with a great smile and professional manner. Dutch's is definitely the best place to eat in Frederick for an elegant evening and fine food
Date: February 12, 2007
The Dutch's Seafood Platter is to die for!!!
Date: January 19, 2007
We found Dutch's Daughter in the AAA on our way home from VA Beach. We were amazed at the quality of the food and the organized staff. The price for the buffet was very reasonable. Wonderful crab dishes. Tremendous desserts. You get what you pay for and I am willing to pay the price for excellence and very grateful for those who see and uphold its standards in this society lulled by the waves of mediocrity. I will deliberately go through Frederick, MD on my next trip South. The Dutch's Daughter is that good.
Date: January 11, 2007
It used to be my favorite place to eat but my last experiences have been fair. The service has been slow and the food is overpriced. The crab cakes are excellent!
Date: January 9, 2007
What a lot of hoopla over a moderately acceptable--though highly overpriced--restaurant.
The food was bland. The atmosphere was oppressive. The prices were outrageous.
The service however, was excellent, our waitress obviously quite embarrassed over the lengthy delays in the kitchen.
Definitely would not go back, not for those prices and poor food quality.
Date: December 12, 2006
This is without a doubt Frederick's best restaurant. The ambience, the service, and the food are all first-rate. I've never had better crabcakes and crab imperial in my life, and I'm particularly picky when it comes to crab. I highly recommend the Broiled Seafood Platter, which comes with a crabcake, crab imperial, scallops, and huge butterflied shrimp. And don't forget the cream of crab soup - it's velvety smooth and piled with lump crab meat. Ambrosia.
The servers cheerfully accepted my requests for asparagus in place of the baked potato and a lobster tail on the side. I understand the lobster tails are flown in from South Africa, and boy, are they good, juicy and firm with lots of hot, drawn butter. The scallops were enormous - at least dollar-coin-sized - and seared to perfection. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Yes, the cost is high, but worth it. After all, this is not one of those restaurants you go to on a weekly basis. It's very classy. Save it for special occasions - Valentine's Day, a loved one's birthday, an anniversary - and it won't seem so bad.
Date: December 2, 2006
I've been there on at least three occasions, food was good but nothing special. Expensive.
Date: October 3, 2006
Food and Service was Fair, but definitely not worth the prices they charged.
Date: September 15, 2006
We had our wedding reception here in August and I was totally blown away by how organized and well put together everything was, especially for our large party of nearly 200!!! The food was amazing, best crab cake that I have ever had!!! Everyone was very friendly and professional, not one little thing went wrong. We had several comments that our wedding was the best they have ever been to. Thanks Dutch's!!! If you are having a private event, definitely, DEFINITELY reccomend!!
Date: August 1, 2006
After living in Frederick for a long time and hearing so much about Dutch's Daughter, my husband and I were a little afraid we would be disappointed. To our suprise it was fantastic, everything from the atmosphere, staff, service and especially the food! It wasn't cheap that's for sure, but at least you get a salad and veggie included in the price! I am looking forward to our next occation to celabrate so we can go again! (Please note: my only complaint is that no one seems to want to get a little dressed up to go out to dinner anymore, come on people, shorts and a "T" shirt in a nice place like this . . ., it effects the atmospher!)
Date: March 31, 2006
A little pricey but you pay for the whole package. Excellent atmosphere. Friendly but unobtrusive service. Best prime rib I've had in a long time. One of the few high end, high quality restaurants in Frederick.
Date: November 8, 2005
Quite expensive, the food is good to very good, but the prices are not within the norm for this quality. Service? Whats that? Did I mention it was expensive? Was better when it was located at the VFW hall.
Date: August 12, 2005
I loved it! It is a little pricy, but the food was great!!!
Date: April 7, 2005
The restaurant itself and its decor are beautiful; the atmosphere is wonderful. This is a place for very special occasions. However, the hostesses don't really go out of their way to treat you in that very special way. The waiting period is extremely long - even with reservations!!! The food is delicious, but the price is too high.
Date: September 10, 2004
We've eaten at Dutch's Daughter several times.
Each time we've been there, it's been great!
Their famous crab cakes are the best I've ever eaten and the steak was tender and just right!
And our service was top notch. We highly recommend Dutch's - it's a great restaurant!
Date: August 22, 2004
It's the best. I have been there numerous times for the Sunday brunch and never been disappointed in the food. I look forward to going for dinner at sometime in the future.
Date: July 26, 2004
Comments on this restaurant? Disappointing. We kept hearing about how fabulous the place was, but honestly, we now question our friends' judgement. The food is okay, but definitely not worth the prices. Chain-restaurant quality. Doesn't have anything over Red Lobster. The service was okay, too. We did not feel like there was anything special about the place, the service or the food. The bathrooms were clean - that's about it. If you are accustomed to fine dining, try somewhere els.
Date: June 29, 2004
Pricey for average fare. I dont need to go to a restaurant to get food out of a can. DD is fine for cocktails/hors d'oevres but I dont recommend a meal. It does not qualify as fine dining!

Comments on this restaurant?\n
This is my favorite restaurant in MD and my husband's as well. The inside is beautiful and romantic, but you don't have to dress up if you don't want to. The food is out of this world! We always get seafood and it is always delicious. The brunch is also wonderful.
Date: March 8, 2004
WOW! Perfect everything. My wife and I celebrated our 25th with a privite party. Room, service, food, price was well worth it. Thanks!!!
Date: February 10, 2004
This is probably the best restaurant I have ever been to. Very good food and very romantic!
Date: December 19, 2003
Food is excellent! Great place for a birthday luncheon or dinner for two with your sweetie! Nice decor and polite servers.
Date: July 19, 2003
Dutch's Daughter is kind of pricey, but it's a nice place for special occasions. Plenty of crab dishes that are at market price. Their cream of crab soup is about the best I've tasted anywhere. You don't go away hungry.
Date: May 30, 2003
The best brunch we have ever had is at Dutch's Daughter! The food is appealing, well prepared and varied. We have NEVER been dissatisfied after many visits. Reservations are a definite must as there are lines every Sunday morning. The wait staff is outstanding also; I cannot praise them enough.
Date: May 8, 2003
The best restaurant in Frederick....excellent service, seafood, steak, anything!
Date: May 7, 2003
I LOVE the Onion Rings. This place has pretty good food, and supposedly good crab cakes, though I haven't tried. The pricing is a bit high, but for a nice dinner, this is a great place.
Date: April 5, 2003
Dutch's Daughter is a great place to get a weekday lunch. My favorite is their excellent steak and cheese sub (which is very reasonably priced), but they also have hamburgers and fancier platters with seafood and chicken. The highlight of the meal, however, is their bread served with cinnamon honey butter. That alone is what makes me come back.

I went here once for a banquet. It has a great atmosphere and service, but to be honest the food wasn't the best. Most of it was cold. The waiters would routinely skip over people as well. I'm sure it was an accident, but it got annoying. I would definitely recommend Dutch's Daughter for banquets though. The setup is perfect for it.
