First class - Quality food, quality service. The price we pay is equal to the quality of the food we receive. Comfortable adult atmosphere.
Unique gingerbread display during the Christmas season. In our opinion the Gladchuk Brothers have the total package.

Best restaurant in Frederick for an excellent atmosphere (if you like an New England garden setting) good food and fair prices. Very quaint and pleasant for adults, not recommended for children under 10. Adult atmosphere here and I like it that way!

Absolutely one of the best restaurants around town. Have only been 4 or 5 times since the prices are a bit higher for our wallets, but well worth the splurge! The Chicken Vermont is outstanding! I don't know how they make a chicken breast so tender. It is heavenly. I don't think there is an item on the menu that would disappoint.

Wonderful place. Outstanding food. Compliments to the chef. Bon Apetit.

This is my favorite resturant in the tri-state area. Red cabbage, potato croquettes, saurkraut, barbque beef, rolls and breads the best as well as all sandwiches on the menu. Deserts are great. All the staff is attentive and I look forward to each trip which is often. Thanks, Steve, for great staff and excellent food.

Got lost looking for a restaurant that closed years ago and happened upon Gladchuk - fortunately a Saturday just before noon - no lines but they asked if we had reservations? RESERVATIONS - you must be kidding. 30 minutes later the place was packed. Do make reservations! Like so many, we had to skip the deserts because the portions are huge - not for old folks like me. I had the livers - my goodness, the best tender morsals ever! The shepards pie was full of not-over cooked veggies and the beef was spoon tender. Lunch was great and we hope to get lost in Frederick again - and thanks so much for mailing my credit card - I accidentally left and didnt' realize until I needed gas in ... Harrisburg!

Count us in as a new regular! First time visitors last night. We are very picky and this place was perfect in every way. Someone in that kitchen really knows their way around herbs and spices. Everything was flavored magnificently. Can't wait to go back!!!

BEST FOOD AND SERVICE IN TOWN!!!

After reading many comments from this and other sites, we decided to try this restaurant for a family outing. We found the atmosphere to be very nice. Surprisingly, however, I was greatly disappointed in the food and service. I tried a steak dish that turned out tough and overcooked. Another in our party tried a stir fry that seemed more like a soup. A third had a chicken/ham/cheese dish where, although the chicken seemed fine, the ham was rubbery. The other 2 in our party were satisfied with their choices. The service was fair at best. The wait staff was rushed and harried to the point where we were more than 2/3rds through our meal before anyone checked back (or we could call over our server). Had they come earlier, maybe the problems could have been addressed and we would have had a better experience. Overall, given the service, price and quality of the meals, I could not recommend this restaurant to anyone. In this class, there are better restaurants in Frederick.

I travel to Frederick rather frequently for work, and Gladchuck Bros. is at the top of my list for dinner. Their fried oysters are to die for, actually the best I've ever had. Excellent service, friendly wait staff, great atmosphere and good wine. Perhaps it is a little pricey, but absolutely worth every penny. I have never been disappointed.

Where else can you go that the host, your waitress and the bartender all remember your name, what you like to eat and whats your favorite drink. Restaraunts like that just dont exist anymore. Well this is one that does. I know that some of the complaints are price that Ive read in here, but I dont know the last time someone compared prices to dutches daughter.I believe a crab cake dinner there is in the mid to high $30 range. At Gladchuks its $26, and that includes salad, rolls, cheese and crackers, and lastly someone that remembers your name and what you like. This is a must and would recommend it to anyone anytime.

I can absolutely say that my visit to Gladchuk's was the most perfect dining experience I've had for as long as I can remember. The service was great from all the wait staff, the dining room was pleasantly decorated and comfortable and the food was fabulous and perfectly seasoned. I can't wait to go back which will be soon. Thanks Gladchuk for a wonderful evening.

two adults and one child. that was our party. they have a children's menu which some other same sized american style restaurants do not. my 6 year old daughter had the chicken fingers starting with a bowl of fresh cut fruit and served with an overly abundant plate of fries. we had the crab stuffed mushrooms caps for appetizer which was pretty good, and i had rainbow trout with mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, yams and caesar salad. i was stuffed. my partner had scallops which were cooked just right. for dessert, our table had lemon meringue pie and german chocolate cake. it was a nice meal. it sure beats outback, or the standard chain restaurant. atmosphere is quaint and fits the menu. the server was very nice. as a previous commentator noted, the prices seem high, but the portions can certainly make two meals easily. there was more than enough to eat. overall, i'd say nice but not spectacular. certainly not bad, so i will try this restaurant again sometime. i will also keep looking for other frederick american fare.

The most charming relaxing place. The staff is very kind and helpful. The food is wonderful. I've had filet mignon, eggplant parm, chicken dishes. I have loved every choice. I read someone didn't like the Caesar salad dressing? All I can say is I LOVED IT and get it every time. The bar tender makes superb drinks too! We like to eat at Dutch's Daughter, The Orchard too but, Gladchuk's is the place we always end up wanting to frequent more often. Oh, the crab cakes are great too!

The service is great and Vikcy is our favorite waitress and Steve one of the owner's is a great host as well. What can we say, the place is GREAT!!! Everything's GREAT. The BEST in town, but don't take my word for it! TRY IT for yourself and tell me what you think!!!

Our favorite restaurant in Frederick. Great variety and reasonable prices, especially for what you get and always so fresh. Good wine, daily made rolls, and special menus daily. The service is outstanding and the bartender is fabulous. Am usually too full for desserts, but take a doggie bag and have the dessert, you won't regret it. We bring relatives, friends and out of town business folks and have always been extremely happy. Do suggest reservations.

the only thing that was better than the service was the food. I took my wife here with high expectations after viewing this site, and it did not disappoint. I do, however, recommend making reservations. Expect to pay for what you get as well.

The food is delicious, have tried several dishes from menu with my husband. However, my favorite is the fish - which is always so consistent in flavor & presentation. All the staff Steve one of the owners and Vicki is our favorite waitress, although everyone one of the wait staff are first class. Wonderful intgimate little bar too with a great barman who makes a great cappucinno too! 10 out of 10 for Gladchuk's!

Way overpriced for regular meals. I've heard others rave, but a whole group us went here and no one thought their meal was excellent (some goods, some very goods). Service was very good, though we felt the place was crowded for the price. We'd judge this like a country Pennsylvania Amish-like restaurant. Certainly nothing special, food on par with the better dishes at one the good diners in the area. High priced food should be gourmet.

This is a very nice restaurant with excellent food. Their crab cakes are one of my favorites (not a lot of filler). The pork dish is also very good. Nice variety of food on the menu. I didn't care for their ceasar salad - too sweet for my taste, but everything else is very good. Great service too!

From the looks of the outside we were expecting a cozy, low priced place with country fare. We were surprised to see a two page menu with dishes like Chicken Vermont and Filet Mignon. Hardly country fare and every entree on the menu had a two digit price tag. Unfortunately we were looking to spend much less than this on dinner, but we relunctantly stayed. I have to say that after our meal, the prices seemed reasonable. Before the meal we were served rolls (white and pumpernickel) with sweet cream butter as well as a basket of crackers with port wine cheese. Each of our entrees came with a salad or soup. The portions were very generous and the variety was impressive. I ordered a breaded pork tenderloin which came with baked apples, sauerkraut, mashed sweet potatoes, steamed vegetables and noodles. I do feel like I got my money's worth on that meal. The decor was lovely and the service was excellent. I do recommend this restaurant for a special occasion meal.

I have driven by your restaurant several times and little did I know what was behind closed doors. I had lunch with the Red Hatters from Mt. Airy and I was impressed from the moment I walked in the door. My chicken salad was huge and delicious. I enjoyed the cranberry muffins as well as the rolls. I can hardly wait to bring my husband to your establishment. Hopefully, you have steak on the menu for dinner, otherwise I will be returning alone. After living in this area for 8 years, I was thrilled to find Gladchuk Restaurant.

Comments on this restaurant? A great start but a disappointing finish. This is a charming restaurant with kind and friendly service. The shrimp cocktail was succulent, with a snappy cocktail sauce, and the crab stuffed mushrooms were fabulous. However, some prankster in the kitchen must have swapped the salt for the sugar. Sadly, the caesar salad, the bearnaise sauce and meat juices were sweet. What a surprise for such a well-rated restaurant!
