I've been in Frederick for 4 months now and this is the best pizza I have found. I keep searching though and after seeing the other reviews I might as well stop

This IS THE BEST pizza in Fredneck, Hands Down, & along w/the Very Reasonable prices comes an Incredibly Friendly Staff!!!! Go there, but Only if you want a Truly Amazing Italian dining experience!!

Moving here from Philadelphia 3 years ago, I could not find any good pizza in this area. A friend took me to iL Fornos and here it is ! Without a doubt the best in Frederick. A light crispy crust with tons of flavor with any topping you choose, I havent had a bad one yet.

iL Forno makes the best pizza that I have ever tasted. Exceptional! I have never tried their other dishes because the pizza is so good I can not imagine ordering anything else.

Overpriced? you're crazy! the pizza is reasonably priced and it's delicious. The wood burning oven makes a difference. If someone wasn't fond of their pizza it's because of the wood burning crust and most people probably aren't used to the taste.
When you order a pasta they give you a great deal of it for around 8 or 9 bucks. And a side of their garlic bread which is their pizza dough with cheese, oregano, and garlic. The pasta entrees are guaranteed to fill you up.
The staff is a great group of people. The waitresses are great at keeping your drinks your filled and making sure everything is fine. The dining room has a nice atmosphere. Not too big not too small. Apparently their expanding the dining room and patio area.
5 stars! Overpriced? puh-lease.

Il Forno is the best pizzeria in Frederick, hands down. I come from an area where they take pizza seriously (Wilkkes-Barre)-- lots of broken nosed Italians and Sicilians. And you can drone on about your Chicago and NY styles but in Wilkkes they make Sicilian pies like you wouldn't even recognize which are so superior to everything people eat outside of that area.
With that said, I love Il Forno! They make me happy with they're exceptionally friendly staff and fantastic pizza. Sometimes they get so insanely busy that their quality slouches but they're going to fix that with an expansion! Two ovens and a bar!!! It's going to be great.

I've been coming here for years; the wait staff is spectacular, the pizza is the best I've ever had, and the buffalo chicken tenders are to-die-for. I cannot give this place enough positive recognition. Over the possibly hundred times I've been there, the flavor and the service never disappoint.

I'm from New England where pizza is PIZZA... and this is the best I've had in MD. The style is different from the Italian style in the the northeast because of the wood-burning oven, but you can't beat the freshness and variety. And the staff treats you like they've been your buddies for years.

Wow, it has been a long time since I've had such incredible pizza. I can't believe it, the white pizza with sliced tomatoes is to die for.....the fried zucchini is amazing. After talking to one of the wait staff, they confirmed what I thought ... the dough is made fresh in house as is the sauce. It is worth the trip and ironically, it is very reasonably priced.

My favorite place to eat. They have the best calzones! I always get mine personalized with whatever toppings i want inside. Great service and awesome management.

We love this place, the pizza is great, love the #1 with meatballs. The pasta il forno is great and the fried zucchini is wonderful. The staff and owners are very friendly, and make you feel right at home, so glad they're gonna make the place bigger, sometimes we bring the whole family and we take up at least 2 tables.

THIS is the BEST Italian Restaurant(altho quaint atmosphere) in Frederick, for the $$, and quite possibly the BEST pizza as well!
EVERY dish I've EVER had has been Fantastic, including the pizza, and the VERY customer-oriented staff & mgmt are the BEST as well!!!
Highly recommend this place, as "Frederick's Best Kept Secret" when it comes to dining...!!!

Upon returning from Italy (where I had been for several weeks) I searched high and low for pizza that tasted as good as the Italians. I found it in Ilforno. I have been going to Ilforno now, since high school, for almost 10 years and it has never let me down. Excellent quality and taste.

For years I went to the Il Forno in Bethesda and then one day about 2-3 years ago it closed. What a disaster!! They undoubtedly had the best pizza I ever had. So I started looking for another. I tried the one in Gaithersburg, but it just wasn't as good. Today, I discovered the one in Frederick and we had dinner there tonight. Wonderful!! It's the same great crust that I remember and the same freash ingredients. You have a customer for life. It's too bad it's such a trip for me. Tonight it was a 45 minute drive, but worth it.

It's the oven that make's the difference, and this is an original wood burning oven coming from Italy.
The place is not really stylish, but the pizza is good and you can also take it Home, and Good Pizza is the reason for going there in the first place.
Try it. You will not regret it!

Maybe it was a traditional pizza margherita -- made with tomatoes, mozzerella, and basil to represent the colors of the Italian flag. No spinach, and nothing to do with a margarita. :)

I have to agree that this is one of the best pizzas around, and not just limited to the Frederick area. On top of the delicious food, you cannot beat the atmosphere and friendly staff. The one negative comment about it being overpriced is insane - some of the most reasonable prices I've seen (especially considering the product). Also, I'm pretty sure the staff knows what a Meatball Parm Melt is - considering there is a Meatball Cheese Melt on the menu! Make a trip there and enjoy!

this is a wonderful restaurant! the waitress is pretty and she gets everything right every time. the ingredients are as fresh as possible. you can tell. the food quality is better lots than hut or domanoes

Comments on this restaurant?
My husband and I stopped in here on a Friday night because Outback had an hour wait. We never knew it was there before. Boy, were we missing some good food! The service was wonderful and the food was even better. They also have outside seating which I prefer. I had the margarita pizze with spinach. A little odd, I know, but it was wonderful! The prices are very reasonable also.

My roommate told me about this place. I don't even live in the Frederick area, but always manage to get some now and then. The BBQ Chicken Pizza and Vegetarian pizza is great. I haven't tried anything else yet!

I love their pizza I love their slightly sweet sauce, their woodburning oven (which you can taste in their perfect crust)
I love their puttenesca with artichoke hearts, capers and sliced olives. I ate this 2x per week while pregnant
I know pregnancy cravings do not always make for good recommendations, but we eat here AT LEAST every month Every week if possible
Very good Best pizza I have ever eaten, and growing up in the New Haven area... I have had a good slice or two
