Don't judge by the outside. This is wonderful food in an intimate casual atmosphere. Service is wonderful and you won't feel underdressed in business casual attire. A hidden gem.

A terrific experience. Wine selections vary every so often. Our waitress (Susan) was very knowledgable with recommendations....the wine selection with the food was top notch. The chef has great specials. We had the rack of lamb and the tuna. Both to die for.The desert tray was ubanable to resist. We were so pleased that the weather did not affect Valentines Day.We also love to dine on the patio in the warmer months.Great addition to Frederick!!!

Frederick needs a great, comfortable restaurant with wonderful food. Monocacy Crossing accomodates that. Food is excellent, service is also excellent.

First off, the food was absolutely incredible! Both my wife and i stuffed ourselves all the way through to dessert and coffee. We both HIGHLY RECOMEND the Grilled Romain Heart Ceasear salad, it is ridiculously awesome. The food is definitely Fine Dining food. The atmosphere is more casual than fine dining and the staff were more on the casual side, dress wise and proffesionalism. If it weren't for the staff and atmosphere being a little too casual, it would have been 5 stars.

Simply the best and my favorite restaurant in all of Frederick and Montgomery County. The best staff, friendly and accommodating owners and food that is superb with a wide variety. You have to try the Asian ribs and my favorite the scallop entree.

Excellent service, atmosphere, and food. A good location south of Frederick. About an hour drive from the DC area, and worth it in every way.
The wait staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The corn chowder/chutney served with the popcorn shrimp appetizer is amazing. Most lunck items are under $12. Take the trip and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

five stars for sure

I absolutely loved this restaraunt. The Waiters, waitresses, hostesses, and bartenders were completely fascinating! Very nice, very fast, very charming. I loved this and it was only my first time there. I dined on the Crabcakes and those were better than 5 stars. Compliments to the chef!

Monocacy Crossing is one of our favorite restaurants, and we always look forward to a meal there. Make no mistake, their chef is terrific, and knows his business. The Oyster Stew (wonderful comfort food on a Fall day)is the best I have ever eaten, and I have never been disappointed in an entree, appetizer, or dessert. They recently added Shrimp and Grits to their lunch appetizer menu, and it is to die for. The atmosphere is laid back, the menu eclectic, the service is excellent, and their patio is wonderful. we cannot say enough good things about this place! You will NOT be disappointed.

Wow! The 8oz Steak was the best I have tasted
in a very long time. The potatoes and green beans tasted just as good. This was a very well prepared meal, expectations were set and met.

We love Monocacy Crossing--one of our favorite romantic spots. The food never fails to thrill us and we were captivated by their new martini menu! Always a special treat for us--and did I mention romantic?

We have eaten both in the dining room and on the patio. We prefer the patio, as the dining room is a little bit crowded.
Each visit we have had excellent staff.
We have had rockfish, gnocci, crabcake, steak, and they are all good. Good bread too! The only time we have had a less than 4 or 5-star meal is when we got a tuna steak drizzled in wasabi sauce and hot sauce. The sauces WAY overpowered the taste of the tuna.

Food is wonderful. Service is exceptional!!! Would highly reccommend getting dessert. Ask for Allie as your server, she is great!

Wonderful atmosphere on the Patio. Wait staff especially Allie, was great. Try the Popcorn shrimp. It is out of this world.

My absolute favorite restaurant. It is always a number one pick for special occasions. We love the Applewood Smoked Bacon wrapped Beef Medalions and the Filet with Onions and Blue Cheese...wonderful! It's really hard not to pick one of the specials of the day though cause they are always excellent!
Would definitely recommend!

We have been to this restaurant time and time again for lunch AND dinner. We have NEVER been disappointed. In the past I would have recommended the coconut pound cake for dessert but they haven't had that recently...we've made a request for its return. Seek out this restaurant.

The food is consistently excellent. Always fresh ingredients prepared in a very unique way. The tuna is on par with the finest restaurants. We love our regular outings at Monocacy Crossing. You will not be dissapointed.

We love this place! It is out of the way, a converted biker bar, don't let the exterior fool you. The chef really knows his stuff and I have to agree the pork in rum sauce is the best. Get reservations.

Perhaps, honestly without exaggeration, some of the best food I have ever eaten in my twenty-one years. Well prepared, warm food. Unique options (I had Applewood Smoked Bacon Wrapped Steak Tenderloins with an Herb and Garlic Sauce, my girlfriend had a Smoked Pork Chop stuffed with Blue Cheese). Delicious crispy fresh green beans, great homemade potatoes, delicious deserts and appetizers. The service is friendly and quite expedient for the complexity of some of the dishes... and the atmosphere is quaint, romantic, and very pleasant. Definitely a place that should not be passed up if you get the opportunity!

Best crabcakes ever!!! Dutch's Daughters doesn't hold a candle to them. They are much bigger and you get two for the price you would pay for one at DD. We also love the pork tenderloin and salmon.

The best restaurant in Frederick County...Gourmet food that isn't "wierd", will please even finicky eaters. You'll feel at home in jeans & a polo shirt or dressed up for a night out. I call it fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Best Quality Food and Portion Sizes in Frederick
From: Yolanda
Excellent food. Fresh baked bread. My husband had pork tenderloin in rum sauce, and I had the sweetest fish I have ever eaten. It was completely booked so reservations are a good idea. There was a spare table in the bar where we dined (and I do mean dined). It's a return trip for us.
From: Lisa
Comments on this restaurant? Wonderful. We kept passing the restaurant on 355 on our way to Frederick and overlooking it because of the exterior. Finally, we stopped in for a late lunch and discovered what we were overlooking. We have now sampled most of the menu, and have not been disappointed in anything. The popcorn shrimp with corn chutney is not what you would expect, given the simple name - it's wonderful. The best thing on the menu, my repeat favorite, is the pork tenderloin with dark rum sauce. We held a large reception there in March (they actually have a very large back meeting room) - people are still telling us that it was the best reception food they've ever had. We agree.

Comments on this restaurant? The well-trained, upbeat staff made eating here a charming experience. The many choices on the menu made selecting only a few things a fun challenge, and everything was prepared and presented perfectly. This excellent restaurant is head and shoulders above all others in Frederick!

Service was friendly, helpful but unobtrusive. Food was excellent - we had four in our party and we each had a different entree and found all expertly prepared and presented. We also enjoyed the martini menu - the Cosmopolitan was definitely superior! We are looking forward to a return visit soon.
