We came upon this diner by chance while on vacation. The food was very good, (French Dip was the best!) and priced reasonably. We would visit again if we return to the area.

Good food. Large, large selection. The yankee pot roast was very good. BUT... Oh my goodness. The desserts! What??? I got the banana cream pie just expecting a good slice of pie. They brought out this HUGE serving of the best pie I've eaten in my 40 years of life. No joke. I'll be back for a late night dessert and coffee!

We "found" this wonderful diner about 10 years ago and were very impressed with the quality of food and service at a reasonable price. We travel through Frederick 2-3 times a year and each time we schedule a stop here for a great meal.

This Place is great, The Food is so terrific, their ice tea is the best in town ! My first visit was only a few months ago, on my first visit my server was Angie what a great personality and warm smile she had, since it was my first visit she went through the house favorites, as i often am a picky eater she informed me the cooks would prepare it just the way i wanted it and it was terrific.

    thank you

Probably the most extensive menu in Frederick. they have just about everything on it, except the kitchen sink. The variety of the menu is enough to satisfy our family, and that includes grandma and her special tastes. The menu offerings, especially the greek menu are huge, get two plates, or a carry-out container, you will need them. Reasonable prices and great service, just what you expect from a diner. Highly recommended.

I really like the atmosphere and the breakfast is outstanding. I have been there several times and the service is always excellent!!! They have the best vanilla malt in all of Frederick!!! Keep up the great work(:

Consistently good food and spot-on service, even during busiest times. Be sure to ask for the bread, which is fresh-baked. Pricing is moderate, for diner food. No bargain specials on weekends. Love that Greek soup!! Good strawberry pie and most desserts. Terrific lamb shanks and rabbit stew are served. Fried seafood are the weakest items. Burgers are good, but not great. Diner staples are great, and breakfast all day!

I took my father out for a ride to Fredrick with me and we decided to get something to eat. My husband work at the vacuum store across the street and came over to eat with us. The waiter George waited on us. He was wonderful. He made myself and my father feel like we are family. We lost my mother about 4 weeks ago and he did'nt know that at first. I took him and the service was still the same, WONDERFUL. Thank you George for a great job. Brenda L Sterling

Good food and good service. Friendly staff. We have breakfast here often, and other meals too, but less frequently. They are very accomodating about substitutions here. And they have some real bargains. Before 10:30 am, you can get 2 eggs any way you want 'em for $1.99, that includes toast and grits or homefries. Their soups are tasty; we like their Lemon Chicken with rice soup (Fridays usually); a bowl's a meal. Give 'em a try.

Great diner! As a transplanted North Jersey girl, it was discouraging trying to find that dependable diner experience that I always took for granted! The owner is great, the food is true "diner" food, they even have french fries w/ cheese & gravy (those who know NY/NJ diners will know this menu item)! I would definitely say you need to try it, melted mozzerella cheese & brown gravy on the side, trust me!

I love to visit Mountain View when travelling from West Virginia to Washington, DC. It offers great food, charming decor and friendly service, and it is within easy driving range of I-270.

I had the oyster platter on my first trip here and it was excellent. On top of the oysters and french fries-you get soup, salad and bread. It was almost too much. I took half of my dinner home to enjoy later. We have never had a problem with the staff. If they do not show the full attention of an upscale restaurant it is because you are in a diner after all. But if you are looking for decent food at a very good price this is an excellent place. Crab cakes are good, strawberry pie (seasonal) is perfect and my husband says that the cheeseburgers are very good, which is high praise indeed-coming from him. He usually judges a restaurant by their cheeseburgers and if the burgers pass muster then we always go back. :)\n

I have to agree though that the music is pretty bad sometimes, but they keep it low enough that you can still have a conversation. So, all in all a decent meal.

Great experience! I don't know where the above reviewers went ;) but it was an experience I look to repeat! I had an Italin dish and to my amazement it was better than the Olive Garden! There was a extensive menu, atleast 6 or 7 pages of food. The low prices and promt, polite service was a major plus. A definite "family" place, has a tv in view at almost every table. Great desserts, not expensive at all and most of all, the staff were inviting and caring. Definately a must visit!!!!

I love the menu with all of it's choices and have eaten many good meals here, with many one or two misses. The portions are always huge, and you can't always eat everything. The prices on the specials are good, but I usually opt for the chicken chesapeake. I also love their crab soup, and most of their other soups. The atmosphere is nice, too with a good view from the glass windows.

Stopped by during Isabel (we had no electric). The food was great. I was supprised at the diversity in the menu. The floor was a little sticky but it was a nasty night. Rated a four.

The quality of the dishes prepared left something to be desired, namely taste and freshness. The staff seemed rude, and we have witnessed that on 4 occasions. The desserts and sweets are very good, but not worth the prices or poor service.

THIS PLACE HAS AN UNBELIEVABLE MENU. I EAT AT MOUNTAIN VIEW AT LEAST 3 TO 5 TIMES A WEEK. I'VE ALWAYS HAD TASTY FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE AND IT'S CHEAP EATS. I ALWAYS HAVE LEFTOVERS TO TAKE HOME BECAUSE THEY GIVE YOU SO MUCH FOOD. MY FAVORITE ITEM IS THE KEY LIME CHEESECAKE.

I have taken visitors there for breakfast on several occasions and have always been very satisfied in the quality and price. The portions are very large, and it is difficult to eat all you are given. As a diner it is excellent!
