Wow, ate there tonight (Saturday) around 7:00pm. It was great! Tons of food, crab legs, oysters on the half shell, sushi. It was well worth the $15.00 ($10.99 if you don't have crab legs). And...the crab legs were meaty and good. If you're looking for good, inexpensive foor, this is the place!! The servers are polite and very efficient. The ambiance leaves a little to be desired, but this is a buffet, four stars for us!

I finally got to go to the restraunt and I thought the seafood was excellant and plenty to choose from, The crab legs were very tasty and not salty at all, great. I really did not get to taste much, other then the crab food so this weekend we will try again.

Huge buffet. Sushi quality has been upgraded for 2007. Great Peking duck. Only complaint is that most dishes are either fried or pure meat, there aren't enough vegetables.

My family lives in WV and happened to run across the restaurant. Food was good and fresh. They kept the food well stocked. You didn't have to wait on food to be replenished. The staff was very friendly, they smiled and were very accommodating. The experience was great. We were pleasantly surprised. We are definitely going back.

I went there for the first time on Sunday afternoon around 4:00pm and was amazed at the selection they had. The various seafood choices where unbelievable. The food was great and the service unbelievable. Each time we got up someone was there to take the empty dish away. They refilled our glasses before they were empty all night long. Didn't know the crablegs were an additional $3.50 but it was worth it, when you factored in all the incredible food and variety of sushi available. I am going to drive into frederick just to visit this place again, as I am not from there (Germantown).

MY FAMILY EATS AT THIS RESTURANT AT LEAST 1 TIME A WEEK SINCE IT HAS OPENED. THIS IS THE BEST CHINEASE BUFFET AROUND, AND THE EMPLOYEES ARE SO NICE TO TO MY CHILDREN.

Definitely one of the better Chinese Buffets around, and the staff is extremely nice, especially considering some of the stupid slob customers they have to deal with.

Go on Friday or Saturday night 6-8pm. As with all buffets the food suffers at other times. Last time we went there was a huge platter of premium sushi which I helped myself to 15 pieces. Their regular sushi is typically good, but this was special. Oysters seem to have gone downhill, they used to be superb.
General Tso's is not good here, too sweet and maybe deep fried instead of sauted (batter should be substantial, not airy/gummy like sweet and sour chicken). Rest of foods are very, though they seem to skimp on vegetable dishes. Nearly everything is pure meat or deep fried meat.
Peking duck rolls are great (on Fri & Sat), though we wish they would use a bit more scallion.
Desserts are typical, bland and cheap. Service is fantastic, though it is a busy place. Get a coupon and the the price is a bargain (1 extra star just for price).

What I like about this restaurant is the fact that the sauces are not overpowering, that there's plenty of good tasting seafood, and there's not an overpowering amount of greasy, fried food on the buffet. The food is also generally nice and steaming and they are constantly refilling the food trays and wiping down the buffet area.

We lived in Frederick for 3 years and enjoyed City Buffet since they opened. The staff is very kind, the place is clean, the prices are fair, and the food is great... I have noticed that the taste of the food can vary, as someone else said. Maybe due to different chefs? ... Anyway, we moved to West Virginia and we still order from City Buffet because we haven't found anything better here or in between. Plus, it's really nice when we order on the phone and they say, "Name?" and I say "Lopez" and he always says, "Ah, yes, yes, Lopez. Ok." Hee hee. Nice guy.

City Buffet is great! Clean, friendly staff, and great buffet selection for the price ($7.95 for adults, $4.99 for children). At least 30 entrees to choose from, including soups and desserts. City Buffet is right behind Chi Chi's restaurant on W. Patrick St, near the Toys 'R' Us. This place gets two thumbs up!

Love the Sushi but have noticed that the buffet foods are not very consistant. Maybe depends on who is cooking but there have been nights where I feel it is the best, and there are nights when I feel like I just drank a bottle of cooking oil.

They had quite a bit of seafood on their buffet. A big variety of foods. The restaurant was able to accomodate a large group of people on short notice.
