I stopped by for the very first time today, after reading that they were voted #1 Bakery in the Frederick magazine. I know one thing for sure, it was NOT the last time!!!! Best pastry I have ever had in the US, very close to the ones in my home country Germany. Delicious!!!!!!

Amazing! The food and atmosphere are both perfect. It's a new favorite of mine.

The best bakery ever. Can't believe it's in Frederick. Pastries are wonderful to look and heavenly to taste. Worth a visit. My favorite is the chocolate peanutbutter dome.
The sandwich are also very good. My favorite is the "cure."

I drive 30 miles to Frederick just to get their french bread, pasteries, and cakes!! There's nothing in Montgomery County that compares.

Proof Bakery is the best place to eat in Frederick. I love their entire menu, from the sandwhiches to the desserts. Walking into Proof is like walking onto the set of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, it's PURE HEAVEN!!

Absolutely delicious. They have the best desserts in town. Their cakes are just wonderful.

Very good - we had soup and chili in bread bowls. It was hard to decide which was better, the soup or the bowl. We had a dessert which was very good too.
Places like this make you wonder how chains like Panera get any business - Proof is so much better!

We recently purchased a variety of pastries from Proof to share with friends. We had a mini tasting party. Everything was delicious. Most of the mini pastries were $3 or $4 each but easily shared by two people.
Everything was fresh, tasty and beautifully decorated. My husband's favorite was the lemon tart. I preferred the fresh fruit tart with a creamy custard filling. We also tried a lovely lemon and chocolate mousse cake, mini key lime pie, and cheesecake. All of them pleased the eye and the palette.
Some of the other pastries in the case were chocolate cheesecake, eclairs, cupcakes, several flavors of mousse cakes, chocolate peanut butter bombes, and more. All individual sizes, fit to feed 1 or 2 people. They also have beautiful full size cakes.
The staff was very helpful and knowledgable about the product. Beautiful downtown location. Shares a building with Cafe Kyoko, which has excellent Thai food.
Both businesses are highly recommended.

I stop in EVERY week and have coffee and share a lemon tart with a friend and I've had NO better! Very nice folks working there. Very clean! What more can one ask for?
PS. Have had other treats and lunch there as well. It is all wonderful.

Definitely worth visiting - good coffee and cakes - and I don't say that lightly. We will return when next in Frederick.

This is the best place in town for desserts. I've started buying all of our birthday cakes here--the cakes are like an event in themselves!

Kudos for outstanding service, too!! I found them amazingly helpful - even when I rushed in a few minutes before closing time wanting a bunch of grilled sandwiches to take to a family picnic in the park. I was so grateful to not get "sorry we're closing" and to walk away with beautiful, delicious platters just perfect for our impromptu birthday picnic.

I slightly disagree with Tina. I've had better in France, but possibly not America. I think the pastry chef is professionally trained and it shows. Just excellent.

Perfection. The best. Each bite is bliss. Do not miss this one! I have not had better anywhere else in the world including Italy.
