My wife and I visited Acacia last night for the first time. We intended on trying the Rockfish and Lamb Chops, which were featured on Acacia's website menu. We were dissapointed when we learned that the website is not updated daily, and that those two items were not available. So we went with the flow and tried two other dishes (Scallops and Salmon), and have to say both dishes were excellent, and in our opinion, the Scallops were the best we ever had. We strongly recommend the PEI mussels as an apetizer, also probably the best we've ever tried.

The food presentation is excellent, the atmosphere is charming, and the wait staff very attentive.

We eat out frequently and enjoy fine dining, and must say that Acacia rates at the top.

We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant!

I have found the service and quality inconsistent. During my most recent (and last) visit the fish came out raw; the filet was over cooked; the wait staff was very friendly and apologetic for a kitchen that abused the privilege of slow. This was pretty much the last straw for us. I find my opinion of the prices varies depending on the food. In some cases the experience has been three to four star, but far too often I leave very disappointed - there are too many other consistently good restaurants to visit. I've taken Acacia off my list permanently.

Once my favorite restaurant in town, Acacia is rapidly declining. The food is satisfactory, but very overprice for the depth of flavors and size of portions. Similarly the wine list, while not bad is way overpriced. The price of two of my favorite selections were recently increased from $84 per bottle to $120 a bottle. Very absurd. The staff is similarly slipping. Last night the waitresses didnt know what the amuse bouche (gift from the chef) was, and the manager served the wrong dish to my wife, and then insisted it was the right dish. When we finally got the right dish, he never apologized, preferring to spend time yakking it up with a rather loud friend of his in the bar. Clearly, acacia thinks they are in the same league with Volt, but i am sorry to say they are not, and will soon price themselves out of existence.

This place thinks it's better than sliced bread, but let me assure you, it is FAR, FAR FAR from it! First off, I was ignored for about 10 full minutes of standing there before anyone would help me. I ordered a salad, which was teeny tiny for 7 bucks. It also didn't taste like it was washed. My server also didn't come back to see if I wanted anything else for 30 mins! NO LIE. He just assumed I didn't want anything else. I think he also assumed I didn't want anymore water even though I had to eat all the ice out of my glass since no one came back to refill my drink once. I finally did get my entree, which was supposed to be a stuffed leg lamb. however, it was soooooo salty I couldn't take more than 3 bites out of it. It's really a great shame Frederick is running out of fine dining restaurants since Mealeys and now Hagan's Tavern have closed.

Always excellent meals and service. Not too pricey. A little loud and tight sometimes.

The place is great! Bartendar (Jarad) is the most out going person and always entertaining. Staff always makes us feel welcome when back in town for visit. They remember our names, what we like to drink and what we order. Acacia is a great place and would recomend to anyone.

Visited Acacia last night for light fusion food as it was so hot outside, only to find they changed the menu last Thursday and "fused" together the "best" of the fusion menu with the "best" of the old pre-fusian Acacia menu,(according to a server). Sadly my 2 favourite dishes, the tempura shrimp and the deep fried rainbow trout were no longer on the menu.

We shared the bacon wrapped shrimp with BBQ sauce. It was delicious and could easily have been served without the coleslaw.

I tried the daily special, trout stuffed with crab and shrimp with a pesto beurre blanc. Again it was delicious but the blue corn polenta was just an unnecessary pile of stodge on the plate. This trout dish deserves a place on the permanent menu.

My husband ordered the filet mignon which was also delicious, but the portion was far too large. Not everyone likes eating leftovers. Perhaps restaurants should offer half-size portions?

Our shared chocolate mousse for dessert was delicious.

Service as always was excellent. It was also nice to be able to wait in a non-smoking bar for our table.

Overall the food was excellent although not quite what we had planned on eating!

Since it has changed over it has lost all of its good employees and energy. I use to frequent the bar and the staff is boring and strike up no converstaions at all. I always have to ask for a menu, no suggestions ever. Sad to see the last concept go.

The food and service are really good here. Last time we went we had steak and rockfish entrees. they were both outstanding. The menu has some really interesting dishes - fusion between american and asian cusine. The prices are very fair - entrees are $teens and low $20's - these great entrees would be $30 in montgomery county down the road. They also feature fresh Brewer's Alley beer from the brewery across the street.

This little restaurant is of our frequent stop-spots for both deserts and lite meals.

Definitely worth stopping in any time.

The service has routinely been wonderful and the food has been great.

delicious food at an almost reasonable price. some of the customers seemed a little stuffy and annoyed at me in blue jeans, but that's what you get with a half way decent restaurant in frederick--people think it's the russian tea room.

comparable to firestones or tasting room pricewise, cuisine is a little less ordinary for this neck of the woods (thank god). service was good, but don't let them talk you into the blue martini thing (it's gross).
