I just ate in in a California Tortilla place last week for the first time and I had the fajita platter of chicken and steak and it was very good. Taco Bell is good,but they don't even serve any fajitas.

I'm surprised how highly rated this place is. Really average food, the meat is very fast food tasting, and the salsa is pretty poor. The only really cool thing is the selection of hot sauces that you can use to mask the fast food taste

For their burritos, the chicken is excellent, possibly even better than Chipotle. Unfortunately, the steak is awful. Just make sure you don't order steak on your tacos or burrito.

Love the Honey Lime Burritos and their cheese dip rocks!!!! Everything always tastes fresh! Definitely a nice change from the other fast food mexican places!

very bland excuse for a burrito, even when you consider that it isn't intended to be authentic. Now I know what the large hot selection of hot sauces is for: to flavor the food.

I am not much on their burritos or tacos. I think Chipotle has them there, but their cheese dip is awesome! Also, I love their selection of hot sauces.
A spicy dream for a spice lover!! I just wish the food was better.

The BBQ chicken ranch burritos are soooo good! Go on Mondays and you can spin the wheel for freebies.

Good burritos, but am not a fan of their designer burritos that have sauces/accompaniments that range from ranch flavored to Thai peanut. If I want a burrito, i want it to taste like a burrito- and they do make the traditional variety which are quite good when paired with a side of guacamole. My only complaint it that sometimes they skimp on the meat a little.

Not too great, unless you like burritos stuffed with rice and little meat. The cool collection of hot sauces, (some a bit too hot) is there because the food is bland.
Misleading with "California" attached to name; it is NOTHING like any taco/ burrito shop in California. Perhaps the name is used in the same way California Pizza Kitchen does, unusual ingredients for the staple medium.
In any case, you can find much better Mexican in Frederick.

I love this restaurant.
The Burritos are huge, and tasty, and the chips & queso are awesome (the queso looks thin till you try it, but it coats the chip well and tastes great)
They have a good selection of hot Sauces.
The atmosphere is fun.
Its a great place to take a lunch break because the food prep is super efficient (i think long lines occur because of indecisive customers more likely than slow prep).
The food is fresher than Will smith and Jazzy Jeff.

The last comment states that California Tortilla is comparable to Chipotle. This could not be anymore inaccurate. If you are looking for a good quick burrito or tacos go to chipotle. This place has lousy tasting excuse for a burrito
