This place is the best reason I can think of to come back to the Golden Mile. In food and price and friendliness, it beats any of the fancier places in Frederick. The fajitas are the best: hot and sizzling, tender and delicious. We go there at least once a week and never tire of it.

I don't get all the hype...nothing special. I've been to plenty of Mexican places in the Northern Virginia/DC/Baltimore/Frederick regions and there are definitely better places than this - better in atmosphere, better in food, better in cleanliness, and better in service. I was NOT impressed at all. Cacique or Mariachi are better bets for Mexican in the Frederick area.

We had lunch there on 28 december. We tried the chicken stuffed Jalapenos as our appetizer - Excellent. The Salsa and chips were absolutely fresh. We also requested the spicier salsa (You have to ask for it - it is definitly tasty and spicy HOT)
The (chicken) Chimichangas are very tasty and the plate had good visual appeal.
The service is excellent. Obviously the owner ensures the quality of the food and has the wait staff prepared for the customer. That combination makes for an enjoyable time and a good meal.
The bottom line. Fajita Grande serves a high quality meal with good service at an outstanding price.

Outstanding food at a great price, salsa is best in town. Staff is always friendly. Rarely do we dine and not see the owner in the restaurant talking to customers. The decor is okay, but the atmosphere is cozy and confortable. Highly recommend.

This place is AWESOME! Our server was very kind and did well considering she was the only one serving at the time (Sunday afternoon). The food was wonderful - beating every other Mexican place in Frederick. I highly recommend the strawberry margarita too!!

My friends and family love coming to Fajita Grande, it's a family friend place to eat, the food is alway good. The employee are wonderful and they are always courteous. We Celebrate my daugthers 30th Birthday Party there and they allow us to have a GREAT time and close the place down.

Cheap, cheap, cheap.. And good food, too! Salsa is fantastic, service is very good (wait staff casually cross-checks coworker tables to fill soda or chips, why don't all restaurants do this?). As good basic Mexican as you'll find in Frederick. Most meals under $10 (many just $6.95). 5 stars for value!

I have lived in the Frederick area for about three years and it is no understatement that my wife and I have been to Fajita Grande probably a 100 times. The food is consistently scrumptious and wonderfully prepared. The staff borders on far too nice. In fact one of the staff knows both my wife and I by first name. This restaurant far out shines Mexicali Cantina and Chevy's. Do yourself a favor and have a wonderful meal tonight.

When we moved to Frederick from California in 1995 we were sorely dissapointed at a lack of good Mexican food. Everyone raved about La Paz which is constantly a let down everytime I have gone there. Now though thank god there are a number of quality Mexican restaurants in town and I must agree with everyone on here that especially for the prices Fajita Grande can't be beat. I also like Mexicali Cantina and Cacique but for the value Fajita Grande takes the cake over all else.

The only place to go for fajitas! We have been here many times but the service has always been slow and the waiter (s) unattentive. My 9 yr old picked this restaurant to celebrtate his birthday and we were disappointed that the staff didnt acknowledge him. But the fajitas are awesome so we still return.

We have been going to Fajita Grande since it opened up, we go there so often that everyone that works there knows us. This is the best mexican restaurant by far. The food is always fresh, consistently great tasting and the atmosphere is great for friends or families.

BY far the best Maxican food I have found in the area. Very fresh!!!
Staff is great, even the owner and managers check on all the tables EVERY TIME I've been there. I go weekly.
The prices are inexpensive. And they have discounts almost every night for a specific group, i.e. military, medical, teachers, police, etc.
If I remember correctly, the menu says the owner has been cooking fajitas in Frederick for 17 years.

Won't go anywhere else for Mexican food. Always top notch and the food is always presented very well. Fresh ingredients and still family atmosphere. Since they've expanded waiting for tables aren't as bad. Can't say enough about this restaurant. Have not had a bad dish and have dined there over 100 times. My family now goes there on all of our special occasions to celebrate with friends.

I highly recommend Fajita Grande. The food, particulary the chicken and steak fajita burrito, is fresh, tasty, and inexpensive. I prefer the guacamole (needs more lime!) and margaritas at Mexicali Cantina, but the entrees are much better at Fajita Grande. Share a fried ice cream with honey--you won't be disappointed!

I moved to Frederick from Phoenix back in '92 and am very familiar with what constitutes a great mexican meal. Fajite Grande is *by far* the closest thing I've found to back home and my wife and kids all love it as much as I do. The shredded beef chimichanga is just awesome. Kids can't get enough of the mexidogs - but how can you go wrong wrapping a hotdog in a flour tortilla and deep frying it.
Long story short - Fajite Grande is the best mexican restaurant in town!!!

Fajita Grande is the best Mexican restaurant you will find in Frederick. We have sampled many places in the area trying to find our favorite Mexican fix. Their food is not only authentic, their service is fast and friendly, the portions are huge, but their prices are totally affordable. You can get a HUGE 3 choice entree for under $9 which also comes with rice AND beans and there is always some left over to take home. I totally recommend this place!

O.K. The comments above tell you that the place has really good food. The offerings on the menu are excellent. I go there when I have a hankering for "Real Tex-Mex style" cooking. The salsa and chips are refilled when you ask. Everything looks to be made from scratch, no pre-frozen menu items. If you lived in San Antonio, like Mexican food, and are now here in Frederick, you would enjoy this restaurant.
The sports bar effect is a bit much, but the meal is certainly worth the trip. Enjoyed it, everytime.

this is by far THE BEST MEXICAN restaurant in Frederick, Md bar none! None of the other places, especially the "fancy Mexican" restaurant down on Carroll Creek in the historic district even come close.
Great food, prices, service and portions. And I'm married to a Mexican from San Antonio so if he will take his Mexican mother to Fajita Grande, then you know it has to be great!
Hopefully they will expand soon because they could make a lot more profit if they just had more tables to serve.

Small cozy environment, but Oh so delicious! Great salsa, a hint of heat; the chicken was marinated in tequila and lime; grilled veggies not overdone.
The service was very attentive, despite it being very busy at dinner hour.
Sangria is fruity and subtle.

Let me just say that I partially love this place because I always end up chatting up the owner, Archie, who is probably one of the hardest working restaurant owners in Maryland and who usually makes me a mean sangria. In fact what is really unbelievable is that ALL of the wait staff have been exceptionally well trained and are very attentive to their customers. Best service I have ever had in a restaurant under $100 entrees.
As to the food, the salsa tastes fresh but not too spicey (some may prefer more fire) and the chips are never stale. I always have the fajitas which I think are the best in Frederick. But Archie still needs to work on his tres leches recipe...

We have lived in Frederick for a long time, We were happy to find an authentic Mexican restaurant with good prices and great food. The portions are huge. Dinner was fantastic from appetizer to dessert. We ordered the Fiesta Sampler for an appetizer, Fajita's, Enchilades, Grande Burrito and Ice Cream Nacho's. Service was a A+. Can't wait to go again.

Fajita Grande is the mexican resterant i have ever ate in . The service is great and it is a very creative and clean place. The Quesadilla are amazing and the Margarita. The restarant itself is looks very different from outside but when i went in i was amazed with what they did with China King!!

Moving to Frederick from Los Angeles was needless to say drastic! Among many things I have struggled to find the similar comfort that I was able to find in Los Angeles, I thought that this mexican restaurant was close by a notch. I recommend this place. It was very plesant to the palate and to wash it down, I suggest a glass of casa margarita! You won't be disappointed!

Fresh, fresh, fresh! The food here is just terrific. Haven't had a mediocre thing on the menu, and we've tried it all. The casa burrito in any variety is the best bargain. I'm getting hungry as I write this. They're expanding the interior which should improve the atmosphere, but I can live with the average interior now just to eat this food.

The food here is fantastic, authentic and very reasonably priced. The house chimi is the best I've ever had. Small dining room so it can get a bit loud, but the servers are wonderful and stop to chat with us every time. Will definitely be back for the Gold Margarita and chimi's!

The restaurant is located at 3-5 Willowdale in Frederick, off Route 40. It is a cozy place with attentive service and interesting dishes. I ordered tonight's special: salmon and mango fajitas which were delicious. Served with refried beans, guacamole, lettuce, salsa and rice it was quite an ample dinner, but, I indulged in dessert. The tres leches cake was laced with Hershey's syrup and garnished with toasted coconut and whipped cream. It was enough for two of us to share. My dinner date ordered the Dinner Sampler and literally more than "sampled" 6 house entrees served on a platter. Even Mr Big couldn't finish it all. Most interesting was a stuffed, fried pepper in a crumb crust. Our total experience was positive and I would heartily recommend Fajitas Grande to everyone who wants authentic, delicious, cooked to order food.
