The best Vietnamese restaurant ive been too! my favorite dish is the Tofu with Salted Peppers and especially if you are a vegetarian i definitely recommend it. Also, the if you love mango you're gonna love the mango chicken! The place does get crowded but it is worth the wait and the price is inexpensive as well.

While the food is good, be aware that there is a hidden "weekend dinner charge" tacked onto the check which is not cited on the menu. I did not find out about this until the check came and, when I asked, was told the reason. Since it was not on the menu or mentioned when I ordered, I refused to pay, but the manager did not relent. It ultimately ended up being deducted from the poor waitress' tip. "The customer is always right" clearly is not the motto here, which detracts from the experience. Any restaurant should be up front about its menu and charges, not try to sneak something by hoping the customer won't notice.

I had dinner here 2 nights ago with my brother and his fiance' (who is vietnamese)its her favorite restaurant here in frederick - i had never had vietnamese food - so i did not know what to expect. IT was AWESOME - but i cannot remember the name of it. It had shrimp and scallops which were crispy - served in a brown sauce that had a wondeful caramel taste - it was supremely tastey! (YUM) I definitely will go back! The restaurant was very clean and the service was nothing short of perfect

The food is amazing but the service is terribly slow and not that great. We've waited for 45-60 minutes for our food the past three visits. We kept going back because the food is SO good, but I think we're definitely going to have to find a new place because of the service.

Me and my family dine in almost every week. It was quite busy on this particular tuesday and we had to wait for our food a little longer than usual. BUT our server was absolutely amazing, she was the wonderful server we've ever had in ALL of our dining experiences. We were a little disappointed that the food took a long time time but our server did the best in her ability to make sure that we were okay and that we got everything we wanted. We LOVE the food but she just made the experience so much more pleasant. We will definately be back.

I have been to Lucky Corner many times...almost always very pleased with the food. The fried rice (chicken) is good, at times a bit heavy on the oil. Good service and atmosphere...

I've dined at Lucky Corner about a dozen times over the last year and have had only excellent experiences. The food is always great, the service is excellent, the restaurant is very clean (bathroom is spotless). Servers are very nice and quite helpful. Prices are very reasonable. It's not very big though that adds to a cozy atmosphere. They close at 9PM which is a bit early.

Every time that I have been there the food has been quite good and the service friendly and efficient. The pho is more than a meal, and the carmelized pork is extremely tasty. Try the lemon grass and beef appetizer. Overall, a really wonderful and affordable place.

They have the new menu with full of great new food. Especially, I do recommend the Hot Pot Special( with choice of chicken, beef or seafood). The Hot Pot was serve with butter yellow rice on the bottom of the pot. Then your choice of meat or seafood will be stir fried with chopped mix vegetables. These combo will be put right in the surface of the butter yellow rice. Ummm... so tasty. I try this once and I tell my friend that I have to come back for it.

This restaurant is excellent. The people are super friendly and will make special orders for you, the food is very good and the prices reasonable. It's true that on first glance, the decor might leave something to be desired, but once you hang out there for awhile you feel the warmth and energy and it starts to look great! For vegetarians, they can make anything for you with tofu.

This place is the best little Vietnamese place to go grab a bite. They're incredibly friendly, service is lovely, and every dish I've had there has been scrumptious.

Prices high? Where do you eat?! Very fair costs, portions, and variety (fair variety, not amazing but everything's yummy). If it's a nice day and you want to grab something to eat, go here.

Was recently introduced to this place, and was very pleasantly surprised! Staff was very friendly and courteous! I had curry beef, delicious! No one at the our table of four had a bad entree! I had a nice lager, but would have preferred wine selection (saldy they only service beer).
    Will be back!

I love eating at this restaurant. Personally, I feel the food here is really good. I believe the food is pretty authentic considering that the chefs, owner, and manager are all Vietnamese. I think the prices are fairly cheap and are fair for the large portions you get. Hope this restaurant stays busy!

If you want real vietnamese food, and know what real vietnamese food taste like, lucky corner is an excellent choice. There aren't any good vietnamese restaurants in montgomery county. I would recommend Lucky Corner to anyone who loves vietnamese food.

One of my favorite restaurants in town. I go here all the time, and I still haven't found a dish I didn't like. The prices are fair, the portions are big, and the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is business casual and is much nicer than most asian restaurants in town.

The pho is excellent!!! Yea for Lucky Corner. I would recommend it to anyone.
  • From: RG

I eat at Lucky Corner regularly for Pho. It's not as greasy as Pho 75 in Montg. or Fairfax County nor is it as good as some of the Mom & Pop pho houses like Pho Sate in Alexandria or Pho Hoang in Centreville, however, it has a clean taste but they have been inconsistent in the past...they might not have the time to skim the broth like the specialty houses. Having said that the Pho is very good. Most of their noodle dishes are good but I don't think the noodles are freshly made (which is a downer) but still good. All their vegetable dishes are tasty and fresh...although I had some sprouts that looked a little brown and withered; they replaced it with fresh ones when I objected.
The space is a little cramped and during lunch its a full house, I've had to wait a few times but I think it's a testament to their growing popularity. I would recommend but bring your credit card if you bring two or more its a bit pricey if your eating other than Pho!

I love the caramelized fish. I go there often to get Pho but it seems like everytime I get it the recipe changes slightly. The restaurant is quaint, nice staff but the bathrooms are somewhat dirty. The portion of food is adequate but sometimes I feel that the food is too expensive. If you travel to Long Beach, CA or Montgomery County Asian food is usually cheaper and tastier. Lucky Corner needs to knock-down their prices.

Lucky Corner has a big menu with many choices. However, I prefer Viet's Aroma, 440 Prospect Blvd (new owner and chef from the previous Pho Cafe). I think they have best Pho (noodle soup) in town.

There are some common foods between 2 restaurants (crispy spring rolls, lemon grass chicken, beef steak, pepper chicken, vermicelli with grilled pork and shrimps ...). Lucky Corner has higher price. Yet I go there sometimes for lunch because my office is close-by. Whenever having time, I drive to Viet's Aroma which is about 2 miles away to enjoy delicous foods.

I like this place, I don't love it. In their attempt to appeal to the masses, they over emphasize sugar in their dishes. Some are so sweet that they taste more like dessert than an entree.

I would prefer it if they would make the food as it was intended to be eaten: garlic, lemon grass, chili, thai basil - those are the seasonings I want to savor! Not sugar!!!

Great Vietnamese Cuisine! It's sooo awesome! My husband and I eat there at least twice a week. Everything is fresh, fast, and cheap! A nice dinner for two is less than $30. I love their House Special Pho and grilled pork chop entree! Oh, and I cant tell you enough about thier Beef & Lemongrass, and their Wonton Soup (it's like Wonton soup on STEROIDS! Whoa! Their summer rolls are to die for! Almost everything tastes upscale and flavorful. But be warned of Lemongrass soup. Soup and lemongrass DO NOT MIX well. The owners are very gracious and the servers are really hospitable. It's a wonderful and clean atmosphere inside! Try it...you might be missing out on something GRAND!

I was raised in Southeast Asia and have eaten in hundred's of Vietnamese restaurants and homes. The Vietnamese Fried Spring Rolls and Pho Tai are the best in the area. This is my regular Vietnamese restaurant. The chicken curry is excellent and the Chicken Fried rice is the best I have ever had at a Vietnamese restaurant. The service is friendly and the beer is ice cold!! Enjoy

We used to really enjoy this place. At times, it's still tasty. However, they are very heavy handed with the sugar. Almost every dish is now sweet enough to be dessert. I would prefer that they make the food taste BETTER, not SWEETER!!

We used to frequent this restauranta lot. We no longer do!

Every dish is arch salty, and portions shrank. Inspite of suggestions to use less salt the dishes are still salty. Lime provided for Pho soup was as dry as a bone. Garden rolls are dry and lack some ingredients. I now go to My Thai restaurant for their excellent Pho and gardens rolls.

I agree with Minh. I am also a Vietnamese and I don't think it's not anywhere close to Vietnamese authentic food. We had Sour Soup, it's way too sour; caramel fish has a little of bitter taste because it's burned; fat rice noodles, it's too greasy; crispy flouder fish is too dry. After that I came back for Pho- a Vietnamese Noodles Soup, I could not believe I have Pho. I thought I had "rice soup". However, I have to give them credit for service.People are very nice, but you come to a restaurant for good food too.

I have had only great experiences at Lucky Corner! It is a quaint little place and the food is great especially for the money. It is also a very clean restaurant and the service is great. I recommend the Chicken Lemon Grass and the Chicken Pad Thai. Lucky Corner also has great tea and you can also buy it at the restaurant to take home.

There used to be a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant on the Golden Mile, Old Town Saigon, but, alas, they have closed their doors and took their authentic and very, very good food with them. There is a newer Vietnamese place, Lucky Corner, down at the end of Marketplace and we've eaten there several times. The restuarant is small and nicely done, with a liquor license, but a big downfall is that they close at 9:00 pm! The lotus root salad is quite excellent, but, generally the other dishes can be uneven. They are not too vegetarian-friendly, but they can swap out meats with tofu for a respectable dinner. If you want true Vietnamese spicy flavors you will have to insist, with emphasis, that you want SPICY food, otherwise you may just get American blandness. Definitely worth a try, but be sure to mention that they should be open later -- at least on Friday and Saturday nights!

My family gos to Lucky corner at least 4 times a month, we ALWAYS have had very good service and I cant think of anything that I have had a problem with. When I go, they know what I want when I sit down! The Pho is VERY good, I have brought friends that are now hooked on the stuff! They do not have a childrens menu and I have a little girl, they make whatever she wants everytime!

Food is a lot better NOW and prices are fairly competive, the portions are also larger, compared to before!

REASON: The restaurant had changed hands. So go there and enjoy yourselves!

Pho is good, with thick sliced beef, the way I make it at home. It could use some cilantro and green onions, besides the usual Thai basil leaves.

Garden rolls are much better now.

Cha gio is not made with the usual rice paper. Appetizers and main entrees are all good.

I am a finicky eater, and usually would go to Rockville or Northern VA for good VN foods, but now, I go to Lucky Corner more willingly. It is quite a few notches above Pho Cafe.

We went there several times and ordered carry out twice. The first few times were good, pho was good not the best but ok for Frederick. Since then the food has gone pretty bad. pho had murky broth and tasted it like they had soaked a pair of socks in it. The grilled beef dish is no longer grilled but 'pan-fried' quickly. I had such high hope for this place and was crossing my fingers but alas, not to be...

Very good Vietnamese food, although not so good to eliminate the need of going to Montgomery County for the really good stuff. In addition, the atmosphere leaves something to be desired, so it's a better bet for take out. Service is friendly. Prices strike me as a tad expensive for what you get, but overall, a worthy restaurant.

I dined here for lunch today with a friend. Everything tasted great - authentic Vietnamese food! Loved the Cha gio (crispy spring rolls $3.50). There are two in an order, served with lettuce to wrap them in to eat. Long and thin, very crispy and great flavor of the ingredients. I ordered the Bun tom thit nuong (rice noodles with grilled pork and shrimp ($9.95). The marinade for the pork was delicious and had the thick consistency of caramelized pork. There were only 2 shrimp, but the amount of pork was just fine. My friend ordered the Mi xao don thuy ngu (Crispy noodles w/shrimp, squid, scallop and mixed vegetables $13.95). The display was beautiful, like a long basket filled with the seafood. The sauce was light in flavor. Service was very good. The Jasmine tea was lacking in flavor – two tea bags should have been used for the amount of water in the tea pot. I noticed on the menu that it states, “…small bowl of soup broth w/scallion,” but I did not get any soup. Their prices are higher than other Vietnamese restaurants in Frederick (such as at Pho Café) and the Germantown - Rockville area, so I may not come here often, but when I do, I know I’ll enjoy quality of the food served.

The food and atmosphere were wonderful. Some traditional foods as well as interesting and flavorful contemporary dishes. With a party over four persons, you will wait a bit too long so come prepared. However, you will be rewarded by a good meal. Prices are a tad high for Vietnamese food. Considering the distance to obtain native cuisine, this can be understood. Recommend Bo Luc Lac for beef and Bun Tom Thit Nuong for pork and shrimp. Rolls were delicious and their Pho was superb.
