Excellent sushi and sashimi, very fresh. Our comparison is with those similar places in Bethesda. Roppongi is a regular stop.

Unbelievable sushi. Clean and well presented. Miso soup is different but fantastic. If you want sushi in Frederick look no further.

I have been going to this little jewel of a restaurant for several years. Their sushi is the best I've had in town.

Definetely the best sushi restaurant in Frederick. It seems not many people are aware of this restaurant, or there are few fans of sushi in the Frederick area as there's never a huge crowd when I dine here--a factor I tend to appreciate as it's nice to avoid the noise and chaos of the corporate hibachi establishments. The atmosphere is very warm and intimate with deep red colors paper lanterns, wooden booths, soft Japanese music, and tiny white lights scattered throughout the restaurant. I've found a larger and more original selection of sushi rolls here than at the more popular, Miyako.

We chose Roppongi because of reviews on this site. It was clean and quiet. Miso soup was extremely good!! Edemane were much too salty. Sushi was excellent. One dinner was served BEFORE any of the appetizers and before the other meals came out. We had sherbet and ice cream for dessert. Ginger Ice Cream was old and freezer burned. Plum Sherbet was excellent. $12.00 for four scoops of sherbet/ice cream was a bit too expensive!! Our waiter was not attentive to the table and did not clear it off after the meal nor did he ask us if we wanted anything else.

I had a very wonderful lunch at Ropongi. Our party was greeted warmly and the sushi was great. Service was excellent. Our visitor from Moscow said you would have to go to a very fine dining restaurant in Moscow to get sushi this good! He returned several times during his visit and we plan to do the same.

Love it there! Pleasant atmosphere (never crowded), great food, reasonably priced.

From various reviews here, we chose to visit Roppongi. It's in a shopping center which is not easy to find. Comments on service were about right ... slow. So was receiving the check -- I just walked up and said I wanted to pay.
Having said that, the food was very good. I would not hesitate to visit again. Given we were coming from Nothern Virginia (Purcellville area), there are few choices for a decent sushi dinner. Roppongi definitely qualifies. If you're coming from the Germantown area, though, stay local and go to Yuraku -- definitely the best sushi in Maryland.

Sushi was not fresh enough. Disappointed since when I walked in, the diners sitting there raved about the food. Maybe I caught it off an off night...it was a week night. But I won't go back.

Undoubtedly the best sushi in Frederick. A small place off the beaten path that has excellent service, fresh ingredients, and good prices.
