I am from San Diego and have been to Trout's Twice! That is pretty good for a west coast guy to go to an east coast cafe twice! I love everything about the place except for ONE thing: the coffee! I am a purist and love strong, black and fresh coffee. My recommendation would be to charge $.50 for basic coffee and $2.00+ for GREAT coffee.

Trout's is small town, home cooking. Comfort foods like chicken and meatloaf with mashed potatoes and greenbeans are typical. The prices are comparatively low. The decor is all American -- lots of red, white and blue. Feels like Independence Day all year (a bit much, even for the most patriotic among us). Vegetarians beware -- not much for you except a grilled cheese sandwich. Trout's has a loyal following in the community, and it can get quite crowded during peak times.
