My husband is cuban and we love going here for a taste of his culture. The decor, music and menu make us think we're in Miami, instead of Frederick, which is high praise from us.

I love this place. The food is out of this world and they really take care of you. My friend and I went there for lunch today and got the fish of the day: spicy tilapia. It took a little longer than usual to get the meal out so we were given the dinner portion for the lunch price. The owner also gave us free samples of Cuban soda which was pretty yummy, too. I will have to try a cafe cubano next time. Will definitely go back!

I read the reviews here when a friend recommended the place. I ate there 12/22/09 and can tell you it was awesome. I got the cuban sandwich and my friend got a pork platter. This place is worth the visit. The owners were friendly, the food was fantastic and the prices are reasonable. What is not to like?

I love this place. I just got back from going for the first time. This was great authentic Cuban food, definitely worth a try. The owner Alfredo was extremely friendly and hospitable. For a small place, it stayed rather busy as well. Frederick knows how to eat!

At TCP not only is the food great and very authentic, but the service is awesome. I commend Alfredo (the owner) for his fantastic customer service. If you have a chance try the palomilla steak, you'll thank me.

Great or cheap, either 1

Had cuban sandwich, good but not great. We felt it was expensive for what you got. Savored over it for a year, finally went in and was disappointed. Seemed a bit dirty. Won't be back.

Cuban lost in WV

I am cuban raised in miami and extreemly picky about my Cuban Food. Let me tell you, this is the best Cuban food I have had outside of Little Havana (an neighborhood in Miami for those of you not familiar). The Media Noches (midnight sandwiches) are delicious. The Pasteles de Guyava (little sweet guava pasteries) are to die for. The coffie tastes like its comming out of my mothers kitchen!! The only negative is that it is a bit pricy for Cuban food, if you are used to buying it in Miami. It is, however, a good deal for downtown Frederick. Do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't regret it!!!

I'm a big fan of Cuban food. The Cuban sandwich at this place is superb. As is the Cuban coffee. A pleasant, very casual, and inexpensive place to eat. Well worth the trip. I stop in whenever I'm nearby.

We live in Frederick and visited for the first time yesterday. We LOVED it!! We had four adults and two kids and all of our entrees were delicious. The milkshakes were amazing too. We definitely will return and hope this place stays here for a long time! This corner, with Vibrant Artwear on one side and That Cuban Place on the other, is my new favorite spot in Frederick;)

I love this place, I used to live in Miami and I missed this sort of thing but it certainly makes downtown a more livable place. The owners are friendly, the food is delicious, and the drinks are wonderful (Read: Coffee).

With earnest and hard working owners who are really friendly, give this place a try. The cuban sandwich is one of the best on the east coast and the shredded beef and/or pork items are excellent. Friendly people in a simple but fun setting. Great for a quick lunch or snack. Keep Cuban food arond Frederick!

Great food at excellent prices. Will have to wait for the hot Cuban sandwich (anything good is worth waithing for!) May get a shot of strong Cuban coffee from the friendly owner to top off a great meal. Decor is very nice also, bright colors and good view.

So thrilled about this small downtown restaurant! I stopped by here last summer and sat outside with my pooch! The owner is super friendly, and even brought a bowl of ice water for my dog while I dined on my cuban sandwich (the pork is excellent). I've been back several times since, and always have a plesant experience. Colors are vibrant and reminscent of Havanna. Although they do not have a liquor liscense, you can BYO rum for mojitos or Cuba Libre.

The Cuban sandwich is delicious; my only criticism would be that it's a little over priced for the portions (a smallish sandwich with potato sticks as a side for about 9 dollars).

Wandered in one late Saturday afternoon...was treated like a long lost cousin. Love the place, the Cuban Sandwich, the Cuban Coffee, the atmosphere(though I'd love some Cubano music as opposed to the tv), the Tres Leche cake was unbelieveable....it's a must try if you're in Frederick. And they also cater, I hear....Charming and affordable.

I ordered food from Alfredo, the owner. The rice and beans were very delicious and tasty. The cuban sandwiches ordered for my son's school went over well. I had 5 sandwiches cut into 30 pieces. Maybe 5 pieces were left over. Alfredo, the owner is a great guy and also makes great Cuban coffee and Cafe con Leche! I think you can also go there and byob! ENJOY!

I love this restaurant. The owners are truly amazing and very friendly both to me and my dog, who usually comes with me to sit at the tables outside. The Cuban Sandwich is incredible and the Blackberry Milk Shake is addictive. They always bring out a bowl of water for Uzi, my dog as well. Great place. Highly recommended.

The owners of this place are really personable and friendly. The food is pretty good too - I am not cuban, but it seems pretty authentic to me. My wife love the red beans and rice and plantains. Very casual place - put your order in at the counter, get your drink from the cooler, but combined with the personality of the owners, you feel almost like you are at home!

Cool place, love the outdoor tables and the parasols make it enjoyable to sit under and eat, as well as watch or chat with the locals. Best place around on Market st. and the outdoor seating is brilliant, more of market street needs to follow suit with outdoor seating. The owners are great too and make you feel like regular.

The owner was super giving my 2 boys free juice with their food and plenty of personal attention. The Pork sandwich was so big my husband and I split it and got an extra order of the meat for lunch the next day! This place is a must try in Frederick

My first visit. Had a cuban. Was really delicious but a bit over the top on the salt content (and I love salt!). Don't know if this was a rarity or the norm... will have to give them a second chance. Coffee was awesome.

owners were really nice, and the place is really nice. I ordered something off the menu, but they didn't have it prepared, so I ordered something else. Took a long time and it was just okay. The coffee was great. I would definitely try it again though because I think it has great potential. maybe an off day

Santiago (not from Cuba:)

I work off 4th St. and heard a lot about That Cuban Place so I just had to see what the commotion was about. As i walked in the door, the ambiance itself captured my attention: the colors and the salsa playing in the background. I had the Cuban Sandwich at around $7 and it was phenomenal (Keep in mind that they bake their own bread). I got a chance to meet Alfredo (owner) and he spoke to me as if he had known me for years. Talk about CUSTOMER SERVICE!! He even offered me a café cubano.
I will definitely recommend this place to everyone i know. Give it a try as i am sure that you will be amazed.

Cozy and friendly. I had the Ox tail soup and a shot of coffee. Soup was enough for 2 servings and was delicious. Coffee was aromatic and potent, pow! Flan looked too good to pass up so I grabbed one to go; never made it into my fridge.

This is great new restaurant. The food is really authentic and flavorful. Because of all the windows the place is a bit cool, so wear a sweater. The owners are extremely friendly to everyone and make you feel at home. I hope this place makes it because their food is great!

Very good food and very friendly staff. Menu board changes frequently, but as it says at the bottom of the board, "Everything is good." Bread is baked fresh daily. It's become a lunchtime favorite since there is always something new to try.

I have dined here twice now in a week! This little 'hole-in-the-wall' serves authentic Cuban food. The place is very small seating about 24 people. I hope they will have outdoor tables for the summertime. There's certainly room for it.

Their menu is limited but what they have is delicious! Prices are very reasonable. Their Cuban sandwich is $6 (the pork is marinated overnight before cooking); the Piccadillo, $8, served with white rice, red beans, and fried plantains; other dishes are around $8; soups are available (today they had a lentil soup with choriso and vegetables; as well as chicken soup); and a shrimp seviche. All their bread is fresh-made. For dessert they have a small variety including flan!

Service is friendly and they are willing to explain everything about the dishes.

I highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic Cuban food!

Excellent service, very personal and good Cuban food. Their Tres Leches is excellent along with the coffee (expresso with sugar). Rice and beans are authentic, well priced and very large portions. Amarillos are not over cooked and taste excellent. Highly recommend if your in the mood for simple good Cuban food in downtown Frederick.

What can I say, this place has AWESOME food and the coffee.......it is seriously like crack. Once you try it, you're hooked. I love the atmosphere here too. There are no menus, no fancy silverware, the menu is written on a dry erase board and the owner will come out and explain everything to you, which I think is really nice. Like it says on the menu board, everything is good.

Very nice little casual restaurant. We had the Cuban Sandwiches which are good, followed by some very strong, but very good Cuban coffee. The owners seem really nice, and do a good job of taking care of you.
